The Savage Gardener #120

I finally caught the "Crash and Burn" video on VH1 and it looks so much
better than on the computer! I can actually SEE what's going on! Some of the
images are a lot more bizarre than I thought - especially the lizard thing,
the flamingo thing, and the people as fireflies! But it's still a beautiful
video. I'm presently attempting to learn the sign language bit (as I'm sure
everyone else is!), and I just want to say that whoever the model is that's
the focus of the video, she did an AMAZING job with her "acting". For just
being in a music video, she performed beautifully. I especially love how she
signs back to Darren at the end. Let's just hope she's over 18 this time, huh
guys?? :D

**"Crash and Burn" is the most added track to U.S. radio for the past 2
weeks!! The GORGEOUS video can be seen now on VH1.

**NOOOOOOOOOOOO!! Sad news on the backup band front! Anna Maria La Spina,
Savage Garden's amazing backup singer, is leaving the band after the
Australian tour (America won't even get to see her!) to begin work on her own
debut album (only good thing about this!). She's been with the band for 2
years, and will be dearly missed by me because I think she has the most
beautiful voice out of ANY female singer around today, backup or not! Best of
luck to Anna, and I'll be buying her debut album the day it comes out, no
matter what (even if I have to import it!). We'll miss you, Anna!

**Billboard charts! "Affirmation" is at #44 and "I Knew I Loved You" is at
#14.

**If you've read the latest Leonie update, you'll know about Darren's widsom
tooth. Poor guy! Reading that made me terrified beyond belief of having MINE
taken out! I'll throw a tantrum just like he did, believe me!

well, i finally saw it, the new video for my favorite song off of affirmaton,
crash and burn. and i have to say that i am not disapointed in the least bit.
itaped it, and have been watching it non-sop. it' kinda reminiscent of that
video by vertical horision, simply because of the text parts.. which by the
way came from a van halen video from a few years back if im correct. but, its
different too, the messages are really different.. and its really a brilliant
video. can i just add that im guessing its their most expensive yet? they
went all out with effects this time... their videos up until now have been
pretty simple (yet good). so this is a new route for them. i really got into
the end bit with the sign language... the message thatgot across was stated
right afterwards.. "communicate anyway any how" i think. all in all, i loved
it!
just my two cents worth

**Savage site to visit!
http://www.allaroundme.subnet.dk

**If you want to nominate yourself or someone else's work, etc., for the
Savage Fan Awards (inspired by my Savage Song Awards!), check out the website
for more details: http://www.geocities.com/savageaqua/sfa.html
All results of Tiara's awards will be posted in the SGer, so be sure to check
out all the info. And yes, I bugged her about a Best Savage Garden Newsletter
category, but she says there isn't one because the SGer is the only one
surviving! <Proud>

**Did you know...the video for "I Knew I Loved You" is loosely based on the
movie "Sliding Doors" with Gwyneth Paltrow? Thanks to [email protected] for
the info!

**The SGer is finally getting a new look! It's being completely redesigned,
although if you're a non-AOLer, you're still stuck with the dull, boring SGer!

Well, that's it for this week. The "Affirmation" tour is just days away from
kicking off in Japan, so expect future ticket sales to appear shortly. In the
meantime, catch ya next week!

Peace, love, and Savage Garden!

DISCLAIMER: I do not own Darren Hayes and/or Daniel Jones. I wish I did, but
since slavery isn't legal in the U.S. anymore, I'm outta luck. I make no
money for the "publication" of this newsletter, so if you're a nasty big
company like that dumb Hit Records, don't waste your time suing me
(especially since you're probably trying to get a chunk of Savage's earnings,
anyway). My family gets a  big laugh everytime my bank statement arrives.
Besides, my life savings consist of $2.54. The program you have just watched
contains real-life stories. The names have been changed to protect the
innocent. Is that your final answer?
