Sabian produced it's first cymbal in 1982 and since then they have turned into a major corporation. Backed by such artists as Phil Collins, Jack DeJohnette, Chad Smith, and Mike Portnoy, Sabian's ringed logo appears on stages all over the world.
Offering many lines of cymbals, each possessing it's own sound and personality, Sabian cymbals are an excellent choice for any drummer from beginner to hobbyist to the professional.
Sabian has six lines of cymbals, each with it's own sound, choice of metal, pitch, finish, hammering techniques, and of course price. At the beginning of the line is B8 being the choice of most beginners. Secondly there's B8Pro also for the beginner but with a greater variety.
The next four series of Sabian cymbals are rated as professional cymbals. First there is Pro series being the lowest on the list of professional cymbals. The next two are around the same but in my opinion, AA far exceeds AAX. The AAX cymbal line is designed mostly for studio use with it's controlled overtones as apposed to the cutting sounds of AA cymbals. At the top of the line for Sabian is HH. HH stands for Hand Hammered meaning that every HH cymbal is hand hammered to specific requirements giving them a deep tonally rich sound. The fact that they are hand hammered doesn't make them cheap either. This is the most expensive line of cymbals for Sabian.
