AJ parked his car in Calista’s driveway. Calista noticed that her mother’s car wasn’t there. They walked up to the door and unlocked it. All the lights in the house were off. Calista flicked on the light switch. I didn’t look like anyone had been home since she left earlier.

“Maybe mom left a message.” Calista walked into the living room. Sure enough there was a message. She rewound the tape and pressed play. It was her mother.

“Hi sweetie. I’m sorry to tell you this but it looks like I’m going to have to stay a day longer than I had originally planned. I’m at the Hilton and the number here is 555-****. I’ll try and be home by dinnertime tomorrow. I hope your date with AJ went good. You can invite a friend over if you want as long as you don’t trash the house. And please be responsible! I love you. Bye.” It clicked off.

“Be responsible? I’m 18 for crying out loud. What does she think I am going to do?” She hadn’t realized that she had said it out loud until she felt AJ’s arms wrap around her waist. He started kissing her neck slowly going from the nape and moving up the side and to her ear lobe.

“So, what do you want to do now?” He whispered into her ear.

“Want to go swimming? I have a pool in my back yard.” She turned around so that she was facing him.

“What am I supposed to swim in?”

She gave him a sly smile. “Swim in your boxers silly.”

“Okay, so I can wear my clothes over wet boxers. Gee that sounds like fun.”

“I’ll wash them for you and them run them through the dryer.”

“Okay, and what about while my boxers are in the washer and dryer?”

She didn’t say anything. She just gave him a wicked smile and arched an eyebrow.

“I’m going to go put my baithing suit on.”

“Okay, I’ll go with you.”

“I don’t think so. You, young man, are going to rest your butt and hormones right there on the couch and you two can have a nice friendly conversation while I’m changing .” She gave him a quick kiss on the cheek and then ran up the stairs to her bedroom to get changed.

AJ sat sown on the couch and waited.

A few minutes later, Calista came back down in her suit and carrying two pool towels.

“Wow! I love your suit!”

Calista was wearing a halter top and boy leg bottoms suit with a red background and a funky black and white floral design.

“Thank you. Right this way sir.” She took his hand and pulled him off the couch and then lead him over to the sliding glass door that led out to the pool. It was a big pool with a diving board. There were a couple lounge chairs. She threw the two towels on a lounge chair and then dived in on the deep side. When she surfaced again she noticed that AJ was still standing there, watching her, and fully clothed.

“AJ are you going to come in? Or are you just going to sand there all by yourself? You’re going to be very bored up there ‘cause all the fun is in the pool!” He stood there laughing a little to himself.

Calista swam over to the edge of the pool and jumped out. “Okay. I’ll just have to help you.” She walked over to him. She looked into his eyes with a playful smile and started to kiss him. He deepened the kiss, wrapping his arms around her. She put her hands at the bottom of his shirt and started to pull it off. Finally, with some difficulites, she got his shirt off and she threw it on the ground.

“Take your pants off.”

“Excuse me?” For a second there he had forgotten that he was supposed to go swimming.

“Do you want to swim in your pants too?” She wrapped her arms around his neck and then slowly moved her hands from his neck, down to his chest and then the button and zipper on his jeans.

“No that’s okay. I can take my pants off.”

“Good. Then hurry.” She gave him another sly smile and then jumped back into the pool. He took off his pants, his shoes and socks were already off from when he was in the living room. When he was just in his boxers, he jumped into the pool.

“That’s better! Isn’t this fun?”

“Your a tease!” He was only joking and he said it with a slight laugh.

“Me, a tease? Why whatever do you mean?” She said it in a goofy southern accent.

“You know what I mean. You taking off my clothes.”

“Oh come on! You know you loved every second of it!”

“Yeah, I did.” He couldn’t help but smile at her. She was so beautiful and he loved being around her. They swam for half an hour and then decided to go inside and watch a movie. Calista lent AJ a robe that used to belong to her father, to wear while his boxers were being washed and dried. She had changed into a baby tee and a pair of really baggy leisure pants. They cuddled together on the couch while they watched ‘Scream 2’. It was one of her favorite movies, even though it never scared her. They kissed every now and then and then Calista fell asleep in AJ’s arms.

~~~~~~ Things had been kinda quiet after Nick and Michelle left the movies. He took her to a casual restaurant for dinner and then lightly kissed as they said good bye at her front door.

“Michelle, do you like being around me?”

“I love being around you. Why?”

“That’s good, because I wanted to know if you’ll be my girlfriend?”

“Oh Nick! Of course I will!” She wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him. They both forgot about Calista and AJ.

“I’ll call you tomorrow, okay?” Nick said after they pulled apart.

“Okay. Bye Nick.” She gave him one last kiss and then went inside.

He drove home on cloud nine. He was so excited that he finally had a great girlfriend. As soon as he got home he did the only thing anyone in his situation would do, he called his best friend. Even though by now it was past midnight, he dialed her number anyway.

~~~~~ Calista woke up to the sound of the phone ringing. She groggily opened her eyes. She reached for the portable phone on the table in front of the couch where she and AJ were lying. She clicked the ‘on’ button and rested against AJ’s chest again.

“Hello?”

“Hi Calista it’s Nick. The greatest thing just happened!”

“Do you have any idea what time it is?”

“Baby, who is it?” AJ had waken up by the sound of the phone also.

“It’s Nick.”

“Calista, who are you talking to?”

“AJ’s over here.”

Suddenly, the earlier events came flooding back to him. “He’s WHAT?”
