~~~~~~~ The next few days were a little uncomfortable for Nick and Calista. Even though they had promised to put it behind them, they still couldn�t even look each other in the face. AJ had begun to notice that something was wrong, but he didn�t quite make the connection, at least not to Nick.

AJ and Calista were at AJ�s house watching TV. Calista just sat there on the couch, her eyes a little wide and her mind racing too fast to comprehend anything. �How I could do this? And with Nick? I really screwed things up. I love AJ more than anything, but then why did I seduce Nick? I was drunk, I wasn�t thinking clearly. But it still shouldn�t have happened.�

�Baby!�

Calista nearly jumped out of her skin and then turned to face AJ/

�Huh?� Her eyes were a little wide and she looked paranoid.

�Are you okay?� He looked concerned and put his hand on hers.

�Um, yeah. Why do you ask?�

�I�ve been staring at you for the past five minutes. You looked deep in thought. Is everything okay?�

She forced a little smile, then it turned to a real smile. �Everything will be fine if I can just put this behind me.�

�I�m fine.�

�You�re sure?�

�Yes. What did you want to do tonight?� She perked up a bit and held his hand in hers.

�I don�t know. How �bout we rent some movies, order a pizza and stay in?�

�Sounds good.� She kissed him softly on his lips and as she started to pull away, he cupped her face with his hands and deepened the kiss. She was a little startled at first but then relaxed into it, kissing him back with all that she had. He moved his hands to her back, running them up her shirt and slowly pushing her further on the couch. Just then a memory ran through her mind. It was Nick, running his hands across her back just like AJ was. Calista opened her eyes and pulled away. AJ looked a little confused.

�What�s the matter?�

�Nothing.�

He kissed her again but the same thought ran through her head again.

�AJ stop!�

He sat up with a look of horror on his face. �What is the matter? Are you sure you�re okay?�

�Yes�I� just� need to go to the bathroom. That�s all.� She quickly got up and headed for the bathroom. AJ sighed sadly. �I hope I didn�t do anything wrong.�

A few minutes later Callie came out of the bathroom. AJ didn�t look at her as she came in the living room. She went up to the TV and turned it off. Then she walked over to AJ and kneeled in front of him.

�AJ, you know that I love you, right?�

�Yes. And I love you too.�

�You do?�

AJ raised his eyebrows. �Of course! How could you even question it?�

She sighed and looked down at her knees. �I don�t know. I�m so sorry.�

�Why are you sorry?�

She just looked at him a little sadly. A minute later a tear rolled down her cheek. It was followed by another. Pretty soon, tears were streaming down from her eyes and she buried her face in AJ�s lap. (Not in a disgusting way.) He lifted her head with his hands and looked into her watery eyes.

�Please tell me what�s wrong. I can�t bare to see you like this.�

She just continued to sob. He picked her up in his arms and carried her upstairs to the bedroom. She clung to his neck tightly and when he laid her on the bed she didn�t let go. She pulled him down, nearly on top of her and just hugged him. He didn�t protest, he held her and within a few minutes, she stopped crying and had fallen asleep. He removed her hands from around his neck and kissed her forehead.

Michelle and Nick were playing Nintendo at Calista�s house. Nick was seriously kicking her butt at a game of Mario Kart.

�I won! Haha! I beat you, I beat you!� Nick did a little victory dance and acted like an eleven year old.

�Only �cause I let you.�

�Yeah, sure. If you say so. I won! I won!� He grinned from ear to ear. He looked quite silly.

�Fine! Be that way. Gloat if you feel you must.� She crossed her arms and turned her head in the other direction.

He kneeled down next to her. �You�re just jealous because I won and you didn�t.� Michelle didn�t turn around. He tried turning her around but she wouldn�t budge.

�Oh honey I�m sorry. I didn�t mean it like that. We can play again and I�ll let you win.� She remained turned around. He couldn�t see it, but she was doing everything she could not to burst out laughing. She even began to shake a little. Nick noticed it and put his arms around her.

�Sweetie, I really am sorry. I didn�t think you would take it this way.� Then she couldn�t hold it in any longer. She burst out laughing and nearly fell to the floor. She surprised Nick and he looked at her with wide eyes.

�You were just joking?�

She just laughed. She stopped for a second to look at him, but then she started cracking up all over again.

�You are going to pay for this.� He started tickling her and this time she did fall to the floor laughing. He was almost on top of her and he wouldn�t stop. Her face turned bright red and she started coughing. As soon as she did Nick stopped.

�Are you okay?� He was still on top of her but he wasn�t tickling her anymore. She looked up at him.

�I�m fine. I can�t believe you fell for that!� She started to giggle a little more.

�Yeah, yeah.� He started to get off of her.

�Hey! Where do you think you�re going?� She pulled him back on top of her and kissed his lips. She had her hands cupped around his face and when they pulled away she looked into his blue eyes.

�You are so adorable! You know that?�

He smiled. �Yeah, I know. Girls tell me that a lot.�

She smirked at him. �Oh really? What else do these girls tell you?�

�Oh, just that they love me and things like that.�

�So, a lot of girls have a thing for you?�

�I guess you could say that. But I only love you.� He bent down and kissed her again.

�Good.�

Calista woke up underneath the covers of AJ�s bed. She opened her eyes and looked around but he wasn�t in the room. She got up and went downstairs.

�AJ?�

She walked to the kitchen and saw AJ sitting at the counter writing something down and eating a piece of pizza.

�Hey AJ.�

He looked up at her surprised and walked to her and put his arms around her.

�Are you feeling better?� He gently stroked her hair and kissed her forehead.

�Much. I�m sorry I acted that way.�

�You had me so worried. Do you want to talk about it?�

�No. Can we please just put it behind us?�

�Anything you want. I ordered your favorite pizza and rented some of your favorite movies, including �Titanic�. I had to fight off a 12 year old for the last copy. She was really mean too until she recognized who I was.�

�Really? What did she do when she saw it was you?�

He laughed. �Well first, her eyes got real wide and then she kept talking about how much she loved us, especially Brian and then she asked for my autograph. She also wanted me to tell Brian that she is his number one fan and that she loves him to death.�

Calista was laughing too. �So, what other movies did you get?�

�Um, let�s see. I got �The Man in the Iron Mask�, �Good Will Hunting�, �As Good as it Gets� and �Spiceworld�.�

�How did you know about Spiceworld?�

�I guessed.�

�That movie is cute! Weird, but cute. Sometimes I can�t even understand what they�re saying.�

�I�ll take your word for it. I also picked up some other stuff. All your favorites.�

She smiled at him. A warm feeling swept through her body and she started getting butterflies in her stomach.

�What would I do without you?�

�I don�t know.� He sighed as he said it.

�I hope I never find out.�

�Is it alright if I kiss you?�

�Why are you asking me?�

�Before you pushed me away. If you don�t want me to then I won�t.�

�Of course you can. It�s very sweet of you to ask but you don�t need my permission.�

He kissed her lightly on the lips, careful not to upset her again.

�Do you want to watch the movie now?� He took her hand in his.

�Yes. We�re watching Titanic first, so I�ll go put the movie in and you go get the Kleenex.�

�Good idea.�

~~~~~~ 3 weeks later.

Calista stepped out of the bathroom with a pale face. She walked into the kitchen where Michelle was eating her breakfast.

�You threw up again?� Michelle looked at Callie sadly.

�Yeah. That�s the second day it�s happened. And it�s always in the morning. I feel fine later on in the day.�

�Hmmm. Maybe you have the flu or something?�

�I don�t know. I rarely ever get sick. When I was younger, I sprained everything, my ankles, wrists, I had knee injuries and once I had the worst back pain after I fell off the beam, but I never got sick.�

�Ouch! How can you stand all that?�

Calista just smiled. �What can I say, I love gymnastics.�

�Maybe you should go see your doctor. If it is the flu he can give you some medicine for it, order you to bed and to drink lots of fluids and you�ll be good as new in no time.�

�Okay. I�ll call him and see if he has any appointments today.�

She picked up the phone, dialed a few numbers, talked for a while and then hung up.

�They had a cancellation so if I go there now they can squeeze me in. I�ll be back a little later.�

�Okay. Good luck.�

Calista got into the car her mom bought for her. It was a silver Neon fully loaded. Calista used to hate Neons but this car was so cool. And she was tired of being driven around by AJ and Nick.

~~~~~~~ At the doctor�s office.

�Okay Calista. When was the last day of your menstrual cycle?�

Calista thought for a moment and realized that it had been quite a while. �Oh God! Well, I don�t really remember, but it was more than a few weeks ago.�

He nodded at her. �And tell me your symptoms again please.�

�Well, I wake up in the morning nauseated and I throw up. Then I feel sour for an hour or so longer and then it goes away.�

He scribbled something onto her chart thingy. �I see. And how long has this been going on?�

�About 2 days now. But I never get sick.�

�Calista, are you sexually active?�

The question caught her completely off guard. �Well, yeah. Sort of.�

�What do you mean sort of?�

�Well, my boyfriend and I haven�t been as sexually active as we were a few weeks ago.�

�And do you use any protection.�

�Yes, we always use protection.�

�Was there ever one time that you didn�t?�

Suddenly, a look of horror came over her face. �Yeah, once. We had both been drinking.�

�I see. Calista, I�m going to have to run a few tests on you. Mainly, a pregnancy test.�

Calista reluctantly opened the door to her house. She sighed as she heard noise coming from the living room. She walked in to see Michelle and Nick cuddling on the loveseat and AJ sitting on couch watching TV. Michelle looked up at Calista as she entered the room.

�Hey Callie! You were gone for a long time. Is everything okay? Do you have the flu?�

AJ got off of the couch and gave Calista a kiss on the cheek.

�Hey sweetie, Michelle said you were sick.�

�Yeah. You could say that.� Her voice was soft and a little shaky. �Michelle, could I talk to you please?�

�Sure. I�ll be right back.� She kissed Nick�s cheek and followed Callie into the den.

�What�s up?�

Calista sat on a chair and took a deep breath. �I don�t have the flu.�

�So, what is it then?�

Calista looked up at Michelle with tears in her eyes. �I�m pregnant.�

�What?! Oh my god! You and AJ are going to have a baby?�

More tears streamed down her face. �I don�t know.�

�What do you mean you don�t know? You just said that you were preg�. Wait a second, it is AJ�s, right?�

�I don�t know.�

�What do you mean you don�t know?�

�Michelle, there�s something you should know.�

�What?�

Calista told her about that night after the party. Michelle was speechless.

�You slept with my boyfriend on my birthday? I thought were my friend?� Michelle�s voice was surprisingly soft.

�I am. At least�. Look, Nick and I were both drunk. And it isn�t all his fault either. I kind of seduced him.�

�I can�t believe this! I just can�t!� She sat down next to Calista. She was crying.

�I�m really sorry. I never wanted this to happen. But Nick loves you.�

�If he loves me so much why the hell did he sleep with you?� Her voice got a little louder and angrier.

�It doesn�t matter anymore. Nick told me that he doesn�t feel for me the way he feels for me. We both realize that it was a mistake. I�m not proud of it. I love AJ more than anything else in this world. I love him so much it hurts. And now, I have a human growing inside of me and it may not even be AJ�s child. Nick would be a wonderful father, but not to my kids. He loves you. We couldn�t raise a child together, not when we both love other people. Even if was AJ�s child, it would change his life. Especially his career. Same with Nick.�

As much as Michelle wanted to hate Calista right now, somehow she couldn�t. It was obvious that she was sorry and that she was paying the consequences. �I can�t let her raise a child all on her own.�

�Calista, I want to help you.�

Calista looked up at her with a shocked look on her face. �What?�

�Well, I take it you�re not going to tell either one of them.�

�How could I? It would seriously affect their lives.�

�Well, you can�t raise a child on your own. Unless, you had something else in mind for it.�

�No, I could never have an abortion or ever give it up for adoption.�

�Well that�s good. But you can�t raise a child on your own.�

More tears fell down her face. �I wish none of this would have happened.�

Michelle hugged Calista tightly. �It�s okay. I�ll help you.�
