Raise The Dead:"Another of those 3,written as a second part to Buried Alive."
Red Light Fever:"Sheer Porn for the hell of it."
Buried Alive:"To create the intro ,we piled lots of earth on the stairwell at the studio and shovelled it down onto a microphone.Needless to say,the studio manager was unimpressed to say the least."
Witchin Hour:"The intro bass chimes actually ring 13 times,we used to put this song at the end of the set,and i used to time it so we started the song at midnight."
At War With Satan:"Our attempt at a Conceptual Elpee.Pretty good i thought;we redisgned the studio again, building a very live Drum Room(LOUD AS MERRY FUCK!)"
Warhead:"This was played by Tommy Vance, who went OTT about it,so much so,he played it at 8:30 on the morning breakfast show live on Mike Read's programme.People rang in all week to pledge donations to charity if Mikewould stop playing it!It went into the national charts at 64,at a time when even mainstream wasn't getting airplay.(Thrash was unheard of)"
Manitou:"One of my favourite Venom Songs, brilliant Cronos lyrical story of mis-justice in the wild west."
Under A Spell:"Unreleased version from Calm Before The Storm version."
Nothing Sacred:"Unreleased track from Calm Before The Storm version."
Dead Love:"Also from Calm session, the first produced album we ever did, handled by Nick Tauber."
Welcome To Hell:"First album,we turned up at the studio believing we were doing some demos, only to be told it was going to be a full-blown LP."
Black Metal:"More hell in the studio. We wanted to get a chainsaw sound on the LP,but a chainsaw doesn't sound very wild,so i cut into a studio door which had a bolt through it;that gave it that really teeth-grinding racket, when the LP was cut we didn't leave any gap at the front so the needle goes straight into the racket."
Countess Bathory:"My favourite track by us,this is a new version Tony Dolan giving it some stick, new intro, about Elizabeth Bathory,a countess who lived in the Middle Ages and had a lust to bathe in the blood of young virgin girls from the local village.(Sound like my kinda woman)"
1000 Days In Sodom:"Really old track, recently re-vamped for the live set."
Prime Evil:"Excellent mix, great feel, part of it still sound slike a Deep Purple riff to me(Mantas still denies it,ha!)"
If You Wanna War:"Brand new track, written by Mantas(Go get'em Sly!)"
Surgery:"New again, the tie-in with Buried Alive at the end is great as the sound of the heart machine stopping as the patient dies and comes back to life only to be buried alive(Ragin')"
