Submission Information

So you want to send in something for airplay, huh? Well I thought I'd tell you about a few guidelines to think about first. To make everyone's life easier in handling your submission, PLEASE do your best to follow them.

1. Has your band been around for awhile with a stable address?

2. PLEASE make sure your submission is a GOOD QUALITY recording! This means minimal hiss, clean, crisp, balanced production, and recording levels no higher than +3dB but reaching -1dB. Too often I get great music that sounds like it was recorded in a corn field, 200 feet away, with a handheld recorder on a Type I tape! How can you get on a label with crap like that? A pro package lets me know you're serious, but slick J-cards don't make up for a poor quality recording. Do your best with what you can afford. Pretty simple, eh?

3. Make sure you include a songlist and a contact address IN the liner notes!! Believe it or not.......

4. If your band sounds like the latest flushable release from Warrant or Trixter, DON'T BOTHER SENDING IT.
I'll probably take it to the rifle range and laugh as it explodes.

5. If your band has drums like "btap btap btap" and is accompanied by 4 chords and weak leads, or sounds like those talentless fools in A.C., same thing. I want heavy but intelligent! Doom, atmospheric, and symphonic styles are wanted as well!

.....Don't think I'm picky, be confident about your submission!

Well now that I got THAT out of the way.... If you plan on sending music to KUNM, please send a letter so I can associate the music with a person and address and write back to you. Many submissions receive a cassette copy (with J-card) of Tombstone Rock with their music on it.

Thanks for your consideration, and I hope to hear from you soon!
