This Los Angeles based awesome foursome: Eric Stretch (18), Ricky G (18), Danny Zavatsky (16) and Tommy McCarthy (19) are No Authority. It all came together for the group after a few years of performing in Southern California, when a demo of their music ended up with Michael Jackson. Jackson loved what he heard and immediately signed them to his label.
With the release of No Authority's first album "Keep On" on SONY/MJJ Music, they established themselves as consummate professionals in today's music scene. From slamming uptempo songs to heartfelt ballads the group's first release had it all. In-studio, their work with cutting edge producers paid off. Talents that lent themselves to the music's success included 21-year-old Grammy winner Rodney Jerkins, whose recent work (Whitney Houston, Mary J. Blige, Brandy, Monica, Joe) made him one of the hottest producers in the industry.
No Authority's infectious new single, "What I Wanna Do" is out June '99 with their self-titled album in stores late July. Production credits include Swedish producers Herbie Crichlow (Backstreet Boys, Robyn) and Danish producers CutFather and Joe (Ace of Base and Mary J. Blige). Hard driving beats accompanied by lyrics and vocal performances straight from the heart; it's what today's youth are clamoring for and No Authority gives it to them like no one else!
No Authority's musical influences range from R&B/Hip Hop artists: Boyz II Men, Blackstreet, Snoop Doggy Dog and 112 to Pop / Rock artists: Garbage, Prodigy, Beastie Boys and of course Michael Jackson. That is why their new album explores the group's vast musical spectrum. From the romance of "Beautiful Girl" to the make-you-want-to-jump-up and dance "What I Wanna Do," and "A Girl Like You," the constant theme is infectious melodies, smooth harmonies and unforgettable hooks.
Unity has always played a great part in this group. Their friendship was established long before their music and this will always come first. No Authority gets great satisfaction in performing for and pleasing every one of their fans. In their spare time they all enjoy just hanging out. Danny is the skate boarder and surfer in the group. Ricky G loves to play every video game ever made and his passion is dancing (he's worked with Paula Abdul and Debbie Allen). Eric loves to socialize, dance (he has won many awards) and kick back with his friends while Tommy loves to spend time on the internet and work on his songwriting with Ricky G.
No Authority has entertainment in their blood and have always loved to perform. They have toured Europe twice; appeared in every teen magazine and created Sony Music's Number One most visited web site: www.noauthority.com attracting thousands of fans worldwide.
Now the world will get to know what many music insiders already know: No Authority has The Authority to take their music to the top of the charts!
