BSB in a film!
The Backstreet Boys, 'N Sync
and Britney Spears will make cameo appearances in Jack of All Trades. Some
footage was shot last week in Central Florida.
First, there was Spice World.
Now, the big screen is beckoning the Backstreet Boys, 'N Sync, Britney Spears and other pop-music stars in the stable of Orlando's Trans Continental Records.
The Orlando teen favorites will sing and play cameo roles in Jack of All Trades, a feature film that marks Trans Continental's first foray into the movie business. The film is being produced by Trans Continental Pictures, a new division of entrepreneur Louis J. Pearlman's Trans Continental Cos.
Film crews finished three days of location shooting in Central Florida last week - at downtown Orlando's N.Y.P.D. restaurant, Windermere country Club and Disney-MGM Studios Theme Park.
Filming will continue in Los Angeles through mid-July, with additional scenes to be shot later this summer in Toronto, said Scott Appel, the film's publicist. The film-makers are meeting with potential distributors and aiming for a theatrical release.
Despite the presence of musical members, Jack of All Trades doesn't revolve around the music business - a la Spice World or the Beatles' long-ago A Hard Day's Night.
Instead, it's the story of twentysomethingtennis instructor-gigolo (played by new-comer Tony DeCamillis) who gets embroiled in a scheme involving seduction and insider trading.
The cast includes Paul Sorvino (Bulworth), Hunter Tylo (The Bold & the Beautiful), Antonio Sabato Jr. (The Big Hit), Danielle Fishel (Boy Meets World) and comedian Gilbert Gottfried.
As for how much acting will be done by the Backstreet Boys, Britney Spears or 'N Sync, fans will have to wait to see.
"Some of the music groups are performing; others are playing characters," Appel said. "We want to keep people in suspense a little bit."

The concert takes time approximately
2 hours. Lotsa flying, there's an acting job with the dancers, serenading
moms and daughters, and six costume changes. Kevin plays a white piano
for Back to Your Heart.
The BSB have taped a commercial
for Sears. Storyline: BSB are taping a music video down the street when
fans locate them. They run for their lives, disguises are donned, until
they find themselves in Sears. They end up shopping there and come out
with handful of shopping bags.
AJ and Amanda have broken up!
He clarified it when they went to Canada to promote their new CD.
AJ said they broke up due to their careers and schedules, but he hopes
they can get back together later.
And this is still gossip,
but my friends say it's true, Brian and Leighanne are not an item anymore.
What's going on? I dunno. That leaves Nick, huh? Follow the trend, Nick,
and dump your girlfriend! *Ain't that a cute poem or what?*
Oh, that reminds me of a shocking fact that Nick now HAS A TATTOO!!! Oh yes girls, it's true. No, no wait, I missed something, Nick has TWO TATTOOS!! One of a shark on his left shoulder, and one of a musical note on his back. (Compliments to Candi and Erika.)
Have you ever joked about Nick
being 'over-weight'? I haven't. Honest! For those of you who have, please
think about it before you go at it again. 'Cause poor Nick just said
this line:
"I went on the internet one
day and people were talking about me being overweight. I mean, I know I
do kind of fluctuate with my weight and stuff... I'm really not that overweight
for my size and my height and everything, but it really does hurt my feelings
a lot when people say that. It's like, yeah, I really do have a stomach,
but it's not like [that bad]... and people just kind of... I get picked
on because of it."
Hmm, but seems like the other
Boys are doing it to him as well... When asked "Do the guys ever give you
a hard time about your weight?" In hushed tones, Nick replied, "Yeah, they
do."
Well that's different when
the guys tease him, they're a family, they tease each other. But Nick to
the rest of us, is a person. Imagine if you were in his shoes and people
go talk about you in chatrooms about how fat you've became. Not exactly
flattering, would it?
More members of the Backstreet Band are leaving. Drum player Tim Berkebile is auditioning for a famous Diva, and saxophone player Paul Howards will be playing for the 'N Sync Band. (Who? This guy must be crazy or fired.) But we welcome new band members Bubba, Mindy and Guy Walker! *applause*
Oh speaking of 'N Sync, I don't
wanna start a spark or something, but the official N' sync website has
said something like this:

Daly reports on MTV Total Request Live that the Backstreet Boys are the
BEST boy band? We know better than that, NSYNC is #1! So don't be shy...
tell MTV that NSYNC is the BEST boy band. Come on, you know it's true,
so share your opinion, NSYNC is the BEST!!!
*Sigh* Just can't stand the
real, right-on-your-face FACT, can they? No of course the guys themselves
have nothing to do with this. I'm saying whoever involved with the website
is.

The Backstreet Boys are once again MTV-Asia's Artists of the Month!!!! I KNEW this would happen shortly after they got something out! This is their 2nd time. MTV will feature them on Backstreet Boys:The Story So Far, Non-stop Hits,and Fanatic.

"Fifteen years down the road
or ten years down the road," the band's A.J. replied, "if I ever did anything
solo, at first I wanted to do something R&B or something R&B pop.
But it's like... some of the stuff I've written or the things I hear now,
I'm really starting to get into that whole like, punk rock-to-Korn type
of thing. It's just different, but I mean, I would like to have some kind
of sound that nobody has."

Howie has a new Corvette, AJ has a Mercedes that his Mom drives and he
loves his Ford Expedition, Kevin drives a Toyota Four-Runner truck, Brian
a BMW, and Nick has a Prowler (that sits in his garage - he doesn't drive
it) and he drives his Durango truck. He was kind of shy when he was talking
about his Prowler - that he loves but doesn't drive.
Worldwide
tour starting June 2 in Ghent, Belgium. After they finish they will
be taking a long break (NOT breaking-up!) and some of them would probably
do some solo stuff during that break. (they said it themselves at MTV Ask)
But on that interview from
Rolling Stone, Brian said that he wasn't ready to even decide of whether
he wanted to do solo or no.
Millennium is a great album,
just the "right step into the right direction" as Brian claims. Check out

Seems like almost all of
the songs have more than only 2 lead vocals. Brian's got this B-ROK Publishing
mark now and Kevin has that K R SON Music. The Millennium [in Indonesia]
is sold in packages, which includes the cassette and a tee with a doubled
price.
So far the BSB have received gold and platinum awards in 45 countries with over 28 million albums sold worldwide.
On the awards front, the group are winners of the 1998 MTV Video Music Award for "Best Group Video," the 1996 and 1997 MTV Europe "Viewer's Choice" Award and 1998 Billboard Music Awards for "Best Group" and "Best Adult-Contemporary Group." They also just won four awards at the 1999 World Music Awards for "World's Best Selling Pop Group," "World's Best Selling R&B Group," "World's Best Selling Dance Group," "World's Best Selling American Group."

'Star Wars' benefit for Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in Manhattan
on
Saturday that when his longtime
girlfriend, actress Leighanne Wallace, makes her next movie, 'Olive Juice,'
he just might pop up in a showy cameo spot. The young BSB's big screen
debut.

IWITW music video is out on MTV Asia and whoa did they look great (esp. Nick). It is directed by the same guy that made Ricky Martin's sweaty-dancing-bodies-o-rama Livin' La Vida Loca. The Boys are seen near a 'Backstreet Boys' plane on the run-way and in an airport area (check out the 'appear and disappear' effects). The flight schedule announcement board says 'MILLENNIUM'. There are also fans trying to squeeze them and squash them and tear them to pieces! Joking. The fans are real decent and nice and I think that's the way the Boys want it (used those words too much, huh?).

that new act Britney Spears talking big! She's still new and she talks
like she's the queen of the world. Britney says that the Boys think that
they have made Britney's single sold out with their 3 sample songs in her
CD. She says "They [BSB] took it as that they were helping me out" and
"I was trying to help them out. Ten years down the road when somebody goes
to pick up my CD, they're gonna have the BSB on it, and by then who knows
who the BSB are gonna be."

End of March, BSB will start the rehearsals of their upcoming worldtour. The concert will be a "concert in the round", with a whole new round stage which turns around during the show. This stage will be put in the center of all the concert venues. BSB will have 10 dancers with them, a live band and background choir.

OH speaking of siblings, guess who just made a debut in one of Aaron's concerts? Leslie! She sang one song after Aaron introduced her onstage, and some of my friends who had watched her said she was pretty good.

Sad news: BSB lost to Lauryn
Hill for Best New Artist on the Grammy Awards. But much to everybody's
surprise, they DID attend the ceremony. They gave out an award to The Dixie
Chicks, and boy did they look different! AJ put on a 'magician' disguise,
Howie's looking weird with the sparkling, outrageous outfit, and Brian's
hair didn't look too good! =( Thank God Kev and Nicky saved our lives with
just being normal.

a worldwide release of their highly anticipated third album, Millennium,
on May 18, 1999. The first single from the new album will go to radio in

The Backstreet Boys' fifth
single "All I Have To Give," off their 9X platinum self-titled debut album,

Much Music. The Backstreet Boys received their first Grammy nomination
in the category of "Best New Artist". The group will be presenters at the

SHANIA'S HISSYFIT STUNS THE
BOYS:
SHANIA Twain put on quite
a show during the recent taping of her prime-time special. The country
crooner was in Fort Lauderdale to shoot concert footage for the show set
to air in March. The special features two special guests: Elton John and
teen sensations the Backstreet Boys. While scenes with John were to be
shot separately, the Backstreet Boys arrived to perform their next single,
then duet with Twain on her latest hit, From This Moment On. But most folks
in the audience were teenage girls who only cared about the Backstreet
Boys. Producers had to tell the girls to keep their "I Love You, Backstreet
Boys!" signs down and out of the way until the guys were actually introduced.
But their shrieking still shut out Shania, says a show insider. When the
Boys attempted their duet with Twain, they had some trouble hitting some
of the high notes. According to our insider, Shania promptly threw a fit
on stage: Talk about a diva. Shania was absolutely livid. Twain's mood
only grew w!
orse when execs told her she'd
have to redo another number because of technical difficulties. That news
prompted another Twain tantrum. Sexy Shania couldn't have cheered up much
later. As soon as the Backstreet Boys left the set, half the crowd got
up to go. Next time she should pack the audience with post- pubescent men
who will only have eyes for her.

American Music Awards: BSB
came home empty handed. Though, they made a sketch just like in VMA '98,
only this time there were more action! It was like, they were running from
a huuuuge bunch of girls, and they jumped off the side of a building! And
there were even more thrills! They were nominated for Best Adult Contemporary
Album of the Year and lost
to Celine Dion. Then for Best Pop Rock Group, lost to Aerosmith dudes.
When there were a performance from country guy, they showed BSB in their
seats. Brian was with Leigh Ann!!!! Nick was talking to somebody sitting
next to him. I don't know whether it was he/she. Too bad.
When they said Backstreet
Boys for being one of the nominees for Best Pop Rock Group, they showed
BSB in their seats, and Whitney Houston and her friend (sitting in front
of BSB) were rocking out to the music (Everybody) and so was LeAnn Rimes
and Casey Keegan (sitting behind BSB)!!! .....and Howie was getting his
groove on in his chair!
On the end of the show, they

Billboard Awards: The Backstreet Boys won Group Album of the Year and Adult Contemporary Group of The Year at the '98 Billboard Music Awards!!! It aired live from Las Vegas on December 7th. Go Boys!!!!
They have received a Grammy Award nomination for Best New Artist. Good Luck to them!!! *cross yer fingers!* The 41st annual Grammys will be presented Feb 24 in Los Angeles on CBS.

The Backstreet Boys are still
plugging away at their new album, recording partly in their hometown of
Orlando, Florida, and partly in Sweden. For their next effort, the Boys
say they're attempting to write some of the songs themselves. "There's
a song that I co-wrote," Backstreet Boy Kevin Richardson told MTV News.
"There's a song that Brian wrote, actually two songs that Brian wrote,
and the rest of the guys are finishing their demos so we can all sit down
and decide what we want to put on the album what we don't." The new
album is officially slated for release next April, but the lads themselves
aren't betting on that just yet. "Hopefully we'll have a single out
by late January [or] early February. And hopefully [we'll] have an album
out by, like, March," A.J.
McLean said. "But that's
all hopefully. We don't get no dates," Howie Dorough interjected.
"It's all hopefully. We have a lot of recording to do left, just trying
to make the album the best as we possibly can. So
we're taking it slowly," A.J.

I heard that the new album
will be called "Backstreet Millenium". It's not official so it can be wrong.
The Carters are packing up
the Carter mansion and moving to L.A.!!! New Australian Big Hit
says that one of their reporters had been to their house over the summer
and Jane Carter says that they are moving to LA. The reason why they are
moving is still unknown.
I also heard that Lesley Carter
is releasing a Christmas song and will be touring with Aaron in Germany!!!
One more, and this is huge
and hurting for Nick's fans, as Nick just declared to Bravo that he already
has a steady girlfriend. He says that she is his first steady and that

TRAGIC NEWS (from MTV)
The Backstreet Boys received
a lump of coal in its holiday stocking this week, as a stage technician
has filed a $3 million lawsuit against the group. In the suit, which
was filed in a Virginia circuit court on Tuesday, Michael Barrett says
he was injured when one of the Backstreet Boys' stage props, a confetti
cannon, fell on him after the group's performance on July 16, according
to the Associated Press.
In documents filed in the
case, Barrett claims that he suffered injuries and emotional distress from
the accident, which occurred when roadies were disassembling the Backstreet
Boys' stage set-up following a
show at the Nissan Pavilion
in Bristow, Virginia. No court date has been set for the multi-million
dollar civil
suit, but we'll keep you posted.
