OCTOBER 19

They appeared on MTV Break Out last week. The show displayed BSB on MTV VMA 98 and clips of their interviews. Sure glad I didn't miss it.

•

Quit Playin' Games is one of the songs that're featured in Baywatch CD (how the hell??????????) along with Robyn's Show Me Love, Ricky Martin's The Cup Of Life (what the...????), and lots other artists which song is... um, not very.. FITTING.. to... Baywatch!

•

Everybody is in Now 4 CD, and also in the fresh-released CD; This Is How We Party. The CD features dance songs like SOAP's This Is How We Party.

•

Anyway, I recently bought B&G CD (that one w/ 10,000 Promises in it) becuz I was curious to death... and what can I say? It's just the same version as they have in Backstreet's Back CD! Am I thrilled.....

•

BSB are nominated for 2 categories in the up-coming MTV Europe Music Awards (will take place in Milan - Italy on November 12) with Best New Pop Band and Best Group (not so certain about the second one though). On Best New Pop Group, they'll be up against 5ive, Spice Girls, Aqua, and Boyzone. MAKE SURE BSB WINS!!!!! Vote on http://www.mtveurope.com
The Boys won't be performing though (anywayz, 5ive is! Lookin forward to that! :) and they aren't gonna presenting any award either. Jenny McCarthy will be hosting. This will air on MTV on November 13, so make sure you tune in!

•

BSB are postponing their European tour, but it's for a very good cause! They're recording some new stuff for the next album, set to come out in spring. They say, the new album is gonna have a way different sound. Don't panic though, because there are previews of the album floating around on the Net and some peeps have heard it. Anybody heard it, please contact me!

•

Nick is planning on releasing an album with Aaron! (Note: this isn't confirmed yet, so consider it as rumor)... But relax, Nick says it's not going to affect the rest of the group.  Anywayz BSB's 3rd album could be out on November 1999! Back to Nick's solo career, he's not reported doing any recording by himself yet.  "I'm just focusing on the Backstreet Boys right now.  Right now I don't have time for much of a solo career."

•

The Boys made peace with Lou, but they fired Johnny and Donna Wright. That's what the MTV was talking about. Why? I heard it's so they could have more control over their music and production. OK then. Bubye Donna, bubye Johnny!

•

Let The Music Heal Your Soul is set to hit records stores in the US and probably Canada on November 3rd. It was previously released in Europe and Asia. I got the lyrics and some pics of the other artists that participate in the song here, and a pic of B-rok and Nick on the vid here.

•

Their next US single would be 'All I Have To Give'! It'll be the 5th and last single taken from their 1st American alb.

•

Their 1st American alb ('Backstreet Boys') reached 7 times platinum in record sales in the US! And of course you still remember 'Backstreet's Back' reached  *****Diamond***** in Canada! It's da biggest sale ever! Never happened to any other group in the world!!!!

*****

OCTOBER 17
BSB are going to be on MTV NEWS 1515 this weekend.  It is probably played on Friday 7:30PM, Saturday and Sunday both at 10:30am (all same episode).  It's an Orlando special, which means 'N Sync will also be on the show.

•

I'll Never Break Your Heart is #1 on Billboard top 200! Go, guyz!

•

At last! Backstreet calling it peace with Lou! Here's what the MTV says (Sorry I cut some lines, my aim is to take only the important ones:
The Backstreet battle is over --sort of.
After a series of complex legal wranglings that generated work for 20 lawyers and judges in three states, the Backstreet Boys have settled out of court with Pearlman, the man who helped bring together, train, tutor and finance the members. The terms of the settlement were not disclosed, but Pearlman, 44, is now a bonafide Backstreet Boy in partnership for one sixth of the action.

The team initially put in place by Pearlman to handle the band's day-to-day management, however, is toast. The boys severed their relationship with Donna and Johnny Wright last month.

Four of the Boys had sued Pearlman, his companies and the managers for what amounts to more control and a better share of the pie. An example used, says the "Orlando Sentinel," was the bandmembers' contention they only received $300,000 from their $10 million summer European tour. Pearlman allegedly argued that he invested $3 million in 1993 alone, and wanted a return on his rather risky investment. He contended his deal with the Boys was fair.

The settlement was reached last Wednesday as the band was being honored by their hometown of Orlando, Florida, for their recent hurricane relief efforts.

Meanwhile, the label spokesperson confirms to MTV News that the band
has been in the studio for the past two weeks working on their new
album.

While she acknowledges earlier reports that the band had been entertaining involvement from the likes of the Bee Gees, Dianne Warren, Teddy Riley and Jermaine Dupri, she adds that it is far too soon to know what material will actually make it on to the album.

Sadly missing from the fold is producer/writer Denniz Pop, who died August 30 after a short bout with cancer, although the spokesperson confirms that the band had worked with Pop prior to his untimely demise, and some of that material may well be included.
The new album is due out in the spring.

Meanwhile, fans can get a fix with the pending release of "A Night Out
With The Backstreet Boys," a live home video and DVD recorded at an
appearance on the show "Viva" in Europe last March. It's scheduled for
release November 10.

For more on "The Backstreet Boys vs. Pearlman," from the Backstreet
Boys themselves, check out the upcoming Backstreet Boys MTV News
Online feature, which will appear on this page Friday evening.

•

Thursday next week, BSB are gonna perform on Total Request Live!

•

The book on Nick, written by Nick's mother, is coming out Nov 16 at Walden books. (I don't know this for sure, but we'll hope itz true.) It's entilted "The Heart and Soul of Nick Carter: Secrets Only a Mother Knows". Features 33 pages of pics from Carter's family albums. Aaron news: Aaron has signed for a sit-com but didn't get the movie he auditioned for. Poor thing.

*********

October 13th.
Howie and Chris N' Sync have known each other when they went into the same college and choir together. Maybe all of you knew this already, but I shamelessly admit that I found out about it just a week ago.
*
October 7 was declared "Official Backstreet Boys Day" by Orlando's mayor Glenda Hood!!!! Wow ain't our Backstreet Dudes flattered enough already!
*
Kevin's gone all cocky? This is what 'Hai' magazine says in its newest edition. When the reporter approached Kevin, he sighed heavily and left without saying anything! What the hell happened to our nice Kevvy?!
*
This is a report of Backstreet Boys' party just two days before they received the MTV Video Awards. In the party, AJ and Brian brought their girlfriends with them, and so did Nick!!!!!! He kissed the girl heavily, but when asked, he said she was just a 'cousin'!!!! Come on, Nick, we don't buy no crap!
*
The sueing problem! Recently this certain TV channel on Oct. 5th broadcasted the news that BSB are supposed to give a press conference to say that they DON'T WANT TO RELEASE THEIR 3rd CD IF LOU PEARLMAN DOES NOT GIVE THEM $11,3 MILLION! I repeat, they REFUSE to record and release their next album! They spilled this on Musique Plus.

*******

October 10th.
4 of the BSB are sueing Lou Pearlman! The only one who isn't sueing is Nick. The reason why they're sueing is becuz Lou controls them too much. But I'm not sure bout the newz yet. Becuz I also heard that BSB aren't sueing Lou at all. Denniz Pop's lawyer is sueing BSB for 3 million dollars. He says Denniz supposedly spent that much money on them for choreographers, extra dancers and costumes. (Gee.. and I thought he was only a songwriter for BSB) This one was heard from the radio.
ANYWAYZ, to avoid concusions, this is what I got from MTV Online:

The Backstreet Boys have been in a bitter fight in court with their manager Louis Pearlman. The court battle began over control of the boys' corporate  entity. A judge in Delaware put a stay on the pending lawsuits while both parties try to settle their differences out of court. The case was to go on trial July 17. The problem lies in a voting proxy given to Pearlman in a stockholder agreement. Does the proxy preclude the independant exercises of voting powers by the band members? No one from the group or Pearlman's office would comment on the issue or how close the two parties were to rectifying the issue.
*
The new album is about to be released in November! I REALLY hope this one's true, after they said it was gonna be out in October, and then said it'll be on April or May '99... etc. But the alb is really worth waiting, becuz there's news that BeeGees has written a song for BSB and that it will be on the next alb! I also read in an un-official BSB mag that Usher will be collaborating with them, along with Robyn.
*
Aaah... Poor AJ! You know that he tore his ligament in the concert in Toronto? Well AJ recently said that his foot is still bothering him and he often looses feeling in it. Oh God. I hope he'll recover.
*
A message from Howie D:
A Message From Howie D.
Regarding the recent passing of my sister, Caroline Cochran.

The outpouring of emotion and sympathy I have received from the fans and the media has been overwhelming. Caroline was only 37 when she lost her battle with the disease called Lupus. This disease effects the immune system, often striking young people like my sister, in their prime.

I would request that instead of sending card and gifts in memory of my sister, a donation could be made to the fund I have established in her name. This donation would help towards the research of Lupus with hope a cure could be found, and no family would have to suffer a loss such as ours.

You can send any donations to:

Caroline Cochran- Lupus Fund at Florida Hospital c/o Florida Hospital Foundation 616 E. Rollins St. Suite 103 Orlando, FL 32803

Thank you.
Howie D. of the Backstreet Boys
*
The Backstreet Boys will be a featured band on the upcoming soundtrack to the hit TGIF show, Sabrina The Teenage Witch, with other artists like Robyn, N'sync, Spice Girls, 5ive, Chumbawamba, Ben Folds Five, Aqua, the Cardigans, Sugar Ray, and also a song from the Sabrina stars; Melissa Joan Hart, Nate Richert and Lindsey Sloane.
*
BSB also got an exlusive in the US acoustic version of Quit Playin' Games on the new Bop Boys album (from the creators of the teen mags, Bop and BB). It also has other artists such as Aaron Carter, 98 Degrees, and more.
*
The newest edition of Jock Jams CD has Everybody (Backstreet's Back) on it.
*
Still about compilation CDs, there's a new CD out called "Boys & Girls" which has 10,000 Promises on it. I don't know if the song is from their live performance (as seen on TV) or from Backstreet's Back CD version. Will anybody tell me about it? I don't wanna waste my cash over the version I already have!
*
I heard the new home vid "A Night Out With The Backstreet Boys" is gonna be released in US and Canada on November. At first, the home video was supposed to be only for Europeans, but due to constant demands, they'll set it out to others as well. About video clips, there ain't gonna be a video of That's The Way I Like It! We'll have to wait around January-February for their newest vid.
*
I have info on AJ's and Brian's girlfriend. AJ's is Amanda Catona, 18 yrs old,  from Innosense. (Sensed that coming since the moment I heard AJ's working on Innosense' choreography and writing songs for them!) Brian's girlfriend is Leigh Ann, a break-through actress which is rumored to be that girl in INBYH vid. (Gee you just can't let them work with girls, they'll practically end up dating them!)
*
BSB won for Best International Group on MuchMusic Video Awards! There were only AJ and Howie attending. The others were in Orlando. Howie dedicated the award to Caroline. *sob*

******

October 3rd.
Yaaaay!!!! I can finally get the chance to drool over the new INBYH vid! It has just got into MTV Asia, just a week behind 10,000 Promises' debut. I hope it'll get into the Hitlist as well. The vid was supposed to be released only for US, but so far it's already spread around Australia, South East Asia, and Europe.
*
Know whose special day this is? Our Kevin turned 27 today! Woohoo! Happy Birthday, Big Kevvy!!!! *smooch*

Please let me know if you hear anything about the Boys. Don't worry, I'll give you credit. Thanks!
