Thank God I watched the last 5 minutes of Survivor last night or else I wouldn't have seen this:) Anyways, here for your enjoyment is a full transcript, and the best description that I could do of a news bit on Amanda Marshall's video shoot for 'Everybody's Got A Story'.
The Loop Much More Music Oct. 18th, 10:02pmMST:)
MM:" point in her ladiest..haha LATEST video, there are ladies in it, called `Everybody's Got A Story.' We were at this videoshoot that was shot over a couple of days, which, by the way, ran from like 1:30 in the afternoon to 6:30 in the morning." (eyes wide)
Shot goes from in-studio lady to a shot of the building where it took place, called Studio City (at night). Screen reads Oct 16th Toronto, ON
Chorus of `EGAS' plays in the background….Amanda is seen dancing around in front of a huge green screen, she's wearing a white tank-top and jeans that kind of flare out at the bottom. I couldn't see what shoes she was wearing:) Ummm she's wearing glitter on her face, and looks pretty tanned actually. The room where this all takes place is truly a video shoot…there are maybe 100 people+ just standing around, some sitting, some standing, then the directors etc. around the camera
So Amanda is dancing around, with her mannerisms we all know:)... shaking her hands when "don't know what tastes good to me"….um she's just hopping around lip-synching to the song playing over the speakers.:) She does this really funny thing during "keeps us apart.." which I have know officialy named The Chicken Dance. It's really funny, I'm sorry:) She does this thing where she bends backwards, puts her arms up in the air, and flaps them….haha, so, not THAT excessive, but, if the video is boring, atleast we'll have the chicken dance to entertain us:) (I'm just kidding guys;)) (no harm intended;))
The Amanda is interviewed…you can see in the background all of the people moving stuff and doing whatever;)
"The video is for the first single from the record, called 'Everybody's Got A Story'"
camera swings to show Amanda dancing
"The concept of this album is just -that-" Amanda gestures with her arms in the air.
They cut her off and go to the director, Nobel Jones….
"The whole concept of the video is that when you look at a person you might not know the complete story. So what we're doing here is creating just examples of that, um through Amanda interacting with the different characters that come down"
Video shows Amanda practicing again in front of the screen, and they also show what the director is recording (same thing)
"There's dance in the video which is a big first for me (squinting eyes), which is kinda cool, I'm busting a move and getting down with it by myself"
Swings to show 5 or 6 dancers in a circle practicing some moves
"We have a choreographer, and we have my girls (bends as she says this, buzzer going off in the background). They're kinda playing the dual role of background singer, girlfriend, kinda dancer thing. So their choreography is much more fluid and complicated than mine. Um I'm just kinda, I'm fronting. I'm just kinda like, up in front, doin my thing"
Scene shows 4 dancers in a line, as the drums come in rigght before the chorus. They break apart turn, bend hehe and get into their 4 corners then do their dancing thing:)
"You know, I'm a big Alicia Keys fan, I'm a big Jill Scott fan, um, big Nika (Pasta??) fan, big, I'm allover the place. You know, big Craig David fan, um, and I think, I think all of that sort of played into, my, not necessarily played into influencing the record, but played into my desire to kinda get out there, and just tell my story and kinda, just share a little bit more of myself with my audience."
Back to the screen, with Amanda dancing, singing along to "nananana", the shot ends, Amanda stops singing, music fades, and she walks up to the camera fixing lip gloss, some people clap, the director walks up to her, and they look at the screen;)
Alright, so I guess that's it:) In total it was about 3 or 4 minutes long, and I was sooo glad that I managed to catch it!!! Hopefully we can look forward to the video hitting screens in the next two weeks:)
