The Manopticon conventions were held in Manchester (UK) at the hotel 'Piccadilly' and were considered by many to be the ultimate of Doctor Who events. Sadly though, it seems that number '5' was and is the last we'll ever see of the greatest 'Who' related conventions in the known Universe. Some of you might be thinking that this site is a bit.......ok..a lot out of date, and you'd be correct. I mean, Manopticon - that was centuries ago...right? Well not quite, Manopticon 4 & 5 were held in 1996 & 1997 respectively. As for 1,2 & 3, I can't really tell you much at all here, as I wasn't involved back then. |
All of the tracks for Manopticon 4 & 5 that are featured on this site are also available on 2 CD's, complete with nice cover/inlay type 'thingies'. Mail me for further details: [email protected] |
May 10th - 2000 Quite a few changes to the site as with regards to layout and new gfx etc....Still haven't got around to 'encoding' rest of the tracks, mainly due to studying / taking online examinations and so-on. But will hopefully get them up some time this week. MOD's shouldn't be too far behind Previous >> May 1 - 2000 Added new Logo. General tidying up and improvements. May 4 - 2000 Added 'Dalek' pic (above) - thought the spinning tardis was a little cliched'. May 5th - 2000 New index page

I'm not gonna bore you to death with explaining exactly what 'Doctor Who' is, besides there are probably literally thousands of sites that do just that already. Anyway If you really don't know what it is then you'll just have to wander over to the links page. |
CD's may be available for the MOD
files...when I u/l them, can't say for definite yet though - all depends
on how many people want the Manopticon CD's.
WARNING!!! - The MOD (or more appropriately MED) files that will be added to the site, were created quite a few years ago, using only 'Tracker' programs such as 'OctaMED' and low quality samples. Because of this (and lack of experience at the time), the music is, how can I put it...well, a bit cak really - "You have been Warned" ;-) |

For more info about the music and the conventions, click on the 'Background' link. *** Please note that there are currently only 5 files available for download from this site - Some of the tracks were originally hosted on 'Logopolis.com' (thanks to Mark Phippen), but sadly that site has now gone down......However Mark has now kindly sorted me out with some server space. All the tracks will be avail for d/l soon. |

This site is still very much 'in development' as they say, so keep coming back to check for updates and 'new' stuff. I'm thinking of having a 'gallery' section to cover the events, which is pretty nifty for people who have never been to a Doctor Who convention before - a good friend of mine has a load of photographs from both conventions (and the previous ones). I also have quite a bit of material that I wrote when I was an 'AMIGA' owner (using OctaMED, Protracker etc...) so the site might eventually (hopefully) expand to include this, along with other material. |

To jump straight to the tracks, just click on the appropriate link 'below' or on the nav bar (top/bottom). All the tracks have been encoded in MP3 format, so you're gonna need a decent player to hear them. Check out the 'links' page for more info... |
