Howie's charity is called the "Dorough Lupus Foundation". It is in memory of his sister Caroline Cochran who passed away after suffering from the disease Lupus. Research into this disease is important in finding out more about it and helping the many others who suffer from it.
The Dorough family started this not for profit organization so that reasearch could be carried out on this disease. Hopefully some day there will be a cure. The foundation also assists with education and assisting people who have the disease and can't afford treatment.
