A.J.'s No-Name Returns
Backstreet Boy alter-ego to raise money for two charities
Backstreet Boy A.J. McLean will step back into the shoes of his British
alter-ego, Johnny No-Name, on May 24th at a press conference to launch a
month-long fundraising campaign for his new JNN Foundation.
The JNN Foundation will focus on two of McLean/No-Name's near and dearest
charities, the VH1 Save the Music Foundation and the Juvenile Diabetes
Research Foundation. The press conference is the first official fundraiser,
as 500 fans will be able to purchase tickets for the event for a $5 donation
to the JNN Foundation.
The event is scheduled for the Hard Rock Live at Universal Studios in
McLean's hometown of Orlando. In addition to the ticket proceeds,
HardRock.com and eBay will also host a month of auctions of autographed
Johnny No-Name memorabilia including a suit and fedora and a leather Hard
Rock Caf jacket.
"My family and I are grateful for all that we have been blessed with, and
giving back -- however we can -- is a mainstay of our long-term goals,"
McLean said. "In establishing the JNN Foundation, we intend to make a
difference with causes that have hit close to home for us."
The press conference will begin at 12:30 p.m. Tickets will only be available
at the door on the day of the event.
