News From The Backstreet Boys

Backstreet Fans - as you may have heard from Kevin on KIIS-FM this morning, or on TRL this afternoon, the Boys have pushed the "Black & Blue World Tour" to August 24th...here's the official word from the Boys...

BACKSTREET BOYS TO NOW RESUME
BLACK & BLUE WORLD TOUR 2001
AUGUST 24 IN MILWAUKEE

In order for AJ MCLEAN to have the time he needs to prepare himself for his return to the road, BACKSTREET BOYS will now resume their BLACK & BLUE WORLD TOUR 2001 August 24 in Milwaukee, WI. The updated tour itinererary includes the addition of four cities before concluding Saturday, October 20 in San Diego, CA.

NICK CARTER, HOWIE DOROUGH, BRIAN LITTRELL and KEVIN RICHARDSON had originally anticipated re-launching the trek August 7 after AJ emerged from treatment. At the same time, the group made it clear (in their July 9 and 10 interviews) that the tour would be postponed for as long as AJ needed to confront his problems.

AJs initial treatment is going very well, said KEVIN RICHARDSON. His doctors have suggested it would be in AJs best interest to take an additional two weeks in transitional care.

BRIAN LITTRELL added: Weve spent some time with AJ recently and he, along with the rest of us, is excited to return to our tour on August 24.

HOWIE DOROUGH said: We are thankful for the outpouring of understanding and respect that has been given to us from the media, our peers and fans around the world through this difficult time.

We truly want to thank our fans for standing with us through this, said NICK CARTER. And we know that it will be worth the wait for them to see the five of us back on stage.

Tickets already purchased for the postponed shows (July 9-August 22) will be honored for the rescheduled dates.

In other BSB news - "More Than That" continues to rule MTV's Total Request Live - and Krystal's single "Supergirl" from her album "Me & My Piano" was a close-call today on TRL.
