To promote his forthcoming solo debut album "Now Or Never," Nick Carter of
the Backstreet Boys fame went on a promotional jaunt to Japan last week to
much success!
Kicking off the trip on October 6 with an intensive day of interviews with
television, radio and print media from Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong and
Singapore, Nick spoke in-depth about his new solo album in good spirits. But
actions speak louder than words. To showcase his solo abilities, Nick
performed two songs -- "Help Me" and "My Confession" -- from "Now Or Never"
the next day on the roof of Aqua City, much to the delight of dazzled
Japanese fans and Asian media alike!
As a totally exclusive trip, a Japan Airlines 767 was also chartered for
"Nick Airways" where Nick took on the captain role, addressing the 150 fans
and 50 media on board via the plane's PA. Five lucky fans were invited for a
brief meet 'n' greet session with Nick but that's not all! To reach as many
of his fans as possible, Nick also made a tour around the plane, receiving
gifts, hugs and kisses from his frenized fans!
With a well-planned promotional trip, the "Nick Carter fever" has indeed
gone to an all-time high with all major media in Japan reporting about the
trip. Not only did Nick's debut single "Help Me" charted at No. 1 on Japan's
Oricon International Singles chart, pre-order sales also paved the way for a
major album release in Japan on October 23. Fans not residing in Japan will
have to wait a little longer though as "Now Or Never" is only scheduled to
be released on October 28. -- LM
