LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) - Former Backstreet Boy Nick Carter may be "Larger Than Life," but that didn't stop him from being arrested on Saturday night, March 5.

The 25-year-old singer was arrested for allegedly driving under the influence after leaving Duke's Restaurant in Huntington Beach, Calif., reports Celebrity Justice.

Carter was with friends at the surfing-themed restaurant before he climbed into his vehicle and pulled onto Main Street. The "I Want It That Way" singer didn't get far and was pulled over at the corner of Main Street and Pacific Coast Highway by officers with the Huntington Beach Police Department for a traffic violation.

After failing a field sobriety test, he was hauled into the Huntington Beach City Jail where he posed for his mug shot, contributing to the growing gallery of celebrities looking their worst on TheSmokingGun.com. He was cited and then released after spending four hours in custody. Officers are considering filing additional charges.

Carter is the youngest boy band member of the Backstreet Boys, which also included Kevin Scott Richardson, Brian Littrell, Howie Dorough and A.J. McLean. He is also the older brother of pop singer Aaron Carter.

The elder Carter is still enjoying the fruits of his celebrity, having briefly dated hotel heiress Paris Hilton. He and little brother Aaron are also possible defense witnesses in the ongoing Michael Jackson child molestation trial.

Carter released a solo album in 2002, which never reached the heights of their self-titled album and "Millennium." The Backstreet Boys recently announced their reunion for a limited 13-city tour of clubs beginning Monday, March 21 at New York's Irving Plaza.
