This is San's account of the breakfast with Brian. Please don't use it anywhere else without asking permission first. Thank you. Visit her website at http://www.leighannelittrellonline.com" I attended the Brian Littrell Healthy Heart Club "Breakfast With Brian" on October 26, 2002. Unfortunately Leighanne was unable to attend due to her being in her third trimester and their Atlanta and L.A. specialists have advised her not to fly. Brian said, 'I have to apologize on behalf of my wife. She really wanted to be here. And she sends her love and appreciation to each and every one of you. But we're expecting our first child..' Needless to say I was was disappointed I could not meet her. Leighanne and baby are healthy and doing very well. During the Breakfast, I asked Brian if their baby might have the same heart condition that he has. He told us that his heart condition is not hereditary and they have had 4D tests done to ensure the baby's heart valves are perfectly formed. He then thanked me for asking the question. : ) Leighanne's due date is December 6th, but their doctor keeps moving it up so they may actually have a Thanksgiving baby. Brian was asked if they have decided on any names, and the one that Leighanne likes the most is Bailey Thomas. Although, they are not going to commit to this name until they meet their son because they want to make sure they chose a name that "fits" him. Brian also mentioned that he and Leighanne are registered online at Babies R Us and have been getting so many items! He said he hopes he doesn't have to send out thank you cards because there would be so many to send out. LOL He thanked anyone that may have ordered something for them. Brian's mother told us the story of how Brian and Leighanne told her and her husband that they were expecting a baby. Mrs. Littrell told us that Brian had gotten really thin during the Black and Blue tour, and when they went to visit Brian and Leighanne in Georgia, she was really happy to see that he had gained some weight. She jokingly told him, "Oh Brian... you're going to have a baby." Leighanne (who was in another room in the house) came into the room and Brian said "Honey, they think we're going to have a baby." Leighanne got big Crocodile tears in her eyes and Mr. And Mrs. Littrell immediately knew they were going to be grandparents! While Brian was eating breakfast, he called Leighanne on his cell phone. He asked us to say hi to his wife and everyone yelled "Hi Leighanne!!" During the duration of the event, there was a video being played on all the tv's of the Healthy Heart Club which included never before seen pictures of Brian. Some of which were photos of him while he was in the hospital when he was 5 years old. They were beautiful captures of a very tenacious little boy who always had a smile on his face. The last picture was a wonderful photo of Brian and Leighanne - another that has never been seen before. Everyone was given the chance to have a photograph taken with Brian and have one item autographed. While waiting for my turn (I ended up being very last in line) I had my picture taken with his parents and spoke briefly with them. I told them "So it looks like you have a famous boy or something" to which we all laughed. Mr. Littrell asked where I was from and we had a small conversation about Canada. When I finally had my turn to be with Brian, I gave him my cd of Olive Juice to sign, and with shaking hands I gave him the copy of The Father's Love Letter I had made up for him, Leighanne and baby. I held it out and asked him if he had ever heard of it, he replied that he hadn't. I quickly explained that it is passages from the bible that tell us of God's love for us. He said it sounded wonderful. I had attached my "business" card to it which contained the url to this site and mentioned that I was hoping to meet Leighanne and if he could give her the card so that if she had time, she could look at the site. He assured me that he would let her know. Due to a misunderstanding, I unfortunately missed the opportunity to bid on some of the silent auction items I wanted. One was an autographed photo of Leighanne, and the other was an autographed photo of Brian, Leighanne with Tyk and Litty. Because I so wanted to bid on something, I was pleasantly surprised when Brian brought out a bag containing some pieces of clothing he decided to auction off. In the end I ended up winning the Braves jersey he wore to this year's MTV Rock 'n Jock event. At the end of the event, everyone was asked to leave except those that won auction items so that Brian could personalize and autograph the items. When I went up to the table, I told him I am from Canada and gave him a lapel pin of the American and Canadian flags joined together. As there were a few people around, Brian said that he would like to have an annual HHC event such as this one, I told him "I can't afford one!" we all had a good laugh over that one. Due to the success of the event including the selling of the tickets and the amazing winning prices of the auction items, it was estimated that the event would fund 12 families in the HHC for two years! Not only does the HHC teach kids the importance of proper nutrition and exercise, but it also pays for the surgeries of underprivileged kids as well as the travel and living expenses for the family. I am very proud to have been able to contribute to such a wonderful organization. |
