Mecca? Burbank? What's the difference? KROQ 106.7 fm Los Angeles, baby!
The KROQ joqs, my idols...
Jed the Fish: (My personal idol- I SAW him at the calendar signing- OH!) THE best DJ, STRAIGHT UP! He's on 2-6pm weekdays, SOMETIMES at noon-4 Sat. and ALWAYS on "Out of Order" Sat. 6-8am and Sun. 8-10am and KHTY Santa Barbara 97.5fm 10pm-12pm (well, BEFORE it turned "smoooooth JAZZ" hisssss!
His middle name is Welsh for fish. He's one of the originals.

This is a pic. from the late 70s, I believe. Is that Jed I see squished at the bottom?!?! Devo commands the top, as it should be.

Sluggo/ Doug the Slug, Baron Von Slug, Slug-Monkey, Slugmonstrosity: 6-10pm weekdays It was a DARK year when he switched to the New York K-Rock, I tell ya. Brad, Carson Daly (want to know how bad THAT was? Check out Mtv Live. He QUIT KROQ to work on MTV! The BASTER!) Anyway, he's BACK. PLEASE don' leave us again! Anyway, he does the Furious Five at Nine every night. This is the top 5 requested songs o' the day usually, but listen for variations, like the attempted Souixsie and the Banshees countdown. Anyway, he's one most righteous cat. Listen to him!
Richard Blade: This guy ROX! At first all you hear is the accent, but keep listening, man. My respect for this dj has totally exploded within the last year. He does the Flashback Lunch every weekday and Flashback Sunday at 5-9pm. He's the guru of 80's music. Dude, he even appears at the beginning of Depeche Mode's 101 video! One happenin' dude.
What's new on the roq...

Dude, I totally, like, let this slide. I apologize to anyone who may, for some reason, care, but anyway, for actual UP-TO-DATE INFORMATION, check out me new site (it's not as blinding- DAMN!)
http://geocities.com/SunsetStrip/Basement/5380/fishie.html Okay. Straight up, I totally apologize for the amazing lack o' freshness in the last month. No excuses. I's jus' devoting all my time to moping and, no, I don't have any Morrissey albums. /however, The Smiths...
July 4th weekend= ALL REQUEST rock- block weekend!!! NOW, win tix to the KROQ PARTY JET to VEGAS!!!!! VIVA LAS VEGAS! (the DK's RULE)

YES! Back from popular demand, KROQ is REPEATING it's NO- REPEAT History of KROQ A-Z weekend! Originally, this was only on last Memorial Day weekend 5:00pm Thurs. to 6:21pm Mon. Over 1000 songs, 73 hours and 19 minutes of pure ecstasy (97 hrs. 21 min. straight up. The 73 is subtracting Kevin&Bean/ LoveLine time. Sooo, it started 5/27/98 on the encore at 6:00am. This should be SWEET! Look for DM, Cure, Devo, Dead Kennedys (please request "Holiday in Cambodia" & "Viva Las Vegas"), and, of course, Madness and the Sex Pistols, plus loads of crap you cringe that kroq ever played! Did you know kroq world premiered "I'm Too Sexy..."? They did. "SuperRad"-The Aquabats! was aired at 11:20pm Sun. on the first run. Anyway.. that's what's new on KROQ!!!

Catch O' The Day
More often than NOT, I'm listening to Jed at 4:40pm weekdays. That's right! Catch O' The Day. Keep a tape cued. This is the heppest five min. o' rock o' the day. (The rockinest 20 min. is the Furious Five at Nine!) Sooo... what has Jed the Fish palyed recently as Catches?
-5/21/98- "Mining For Boners" -Jed the Fish. YES, his OWN creation! Ask my friends, I've been spazzing over it for the last week. It's nothing you want to play in the Van with your 'rents, but WHAT IS?
-5/27/98- "Coming Up Roses" -Curve (Danny Saber Remix off the single- track 7, I believe) This guy can make ANY track sound like an acid experience for your tymapnic membrane. Check out the Jungle Bros. remix of U2's "Starin At The Sun" [Pop]
-5/28/98- "Baby's On Fire" -Brian Eno [Here Come The Warm Jets]
-5/29/98- "I Zimbra" -Talking Heads [Fear of Music]
-6/ 2/98- "Hoover Street" -RANCID!!! [Life Won't Wait]
-6/ 9/98- "Surrender" -Cheap Trick (Rich Kotsty Remix) [Small Soldiers Sndtrk.]
-6/11/98- "Truly, Truly" -Grant Lee Buffalo [Jubilee]
-6/12/98- "Rockefeller Skank" -Fatboy Slim
Damn my job.

Excuse the holes in this list. Due to graduation from High School and all the preceding activities, I missed a lot.
Personal Hell- my summer job currently conflicts with Jed the Fish's time slot, Catch O' The Day, AND Sluggo.
