The Official Omar Lopez Homepage
|
Hey guys! As you've probably guessed, I'm Omar. I was born on March 23, 1979, and I was raised in Austin, Texas, which is currently my place of residence. I graduated from McCallum High School in Spring 1997, and attended Southwest Texas State University from Fall 1997 to Spring 1998. Since then, I have been touring full-time as a solo violinist and vocalist with the International Philharmonic Orchestra, from Mexico City's Auditorio Nacional to New York City's Radio City Music Hall.
Like any other homepage, mine is never complete, but keep on coming back and to see what's new in the future, including stories, pics, and links!

Special Thanks to...

My Lord, Jesus Christ, without whom I would have never been able to come this far and accomplish so much. I am humbly broken and lifted up in your presence. My mother, Mary, for bringing me into this world and being my best friend and confidante, and to my father and stepmother, Fidencio and Lupita, for being the necessary guides to the Holy Spirit and for showing me the best way to live - in honesty. To Maricela Nublado...I cannot thank you enough for showing me the path to my life's dream and my heart's desire and for being the truest of friends! To my inspirations, Yanni Chrysomallis, Karen Briggs, Eileen Ivers, Liz Knowles, John Tesh, and Charlie Bisharat, who laid the pavement on a road of music which I will follow for the rest of my life. To Gwynlon and Dana, who have been the most beautiful ladies and best girlfriends to me since the days of McCallum High School. To the staff and management of Violins, Etc., for assisting me in my financial and musical endeavors and for introducing me to the superb line of well-crafted Zeta Violins and their "Etcetera" line of violins. To the people at Great Hills Baptist Church, especially the members of the orchestra and Dr. Harold E. O'Chester, who have provided a comfortable, strong place of worship and spiritual peace. To Ernest Provencio, Ammi Edwards, and Cory Fenity (respectively) for the photo shots which lent the images to my webpage. To the International Philharmonic Orchestra - its members and management team - for being a group of people which has become my family away from my family. Finally, to the rest of the unnamed people in my life - my hundreds of friends and family members - who have supported me the entire way through. I dedicate this webpage my "Love for Life" to my late grandmother, "Wita," who taught me that doing for others was more important than having things done for me. May God bless you and keep you in His arms for all eternity. I love you dearly and thank you.
