Make sure you get out to his going away Bash at the Gunsmoke may 4th.
On This page we 're going to introduce you to the Members of the Double Cross Band. Briefly, we should say here that the photo's of the Members will change from time to time with updated ones. We are always happy to hear from you so, if you have any suggestions about our web site let us know by e-mail or by seeing us at one of our play dates. Please do not forget that our Fan club President works hard to bring you T-shirts, buttons, decals and pictures, she makes sure she has them available as much as possible.
The First up is Steve Waldo. He came to this band from another Rochester New York band called " Closing Time" However, Steve has played in other local favorites such as " Roadhouse " and "Innovation". This guy can play a dazzling Telecaster guitar like no one else I have ever heard, except for the late great Chet Atkins or the famous Brent Mason, incidentally Brent is one of Steve's biggest influences. When you sit in the crowd and hear Steve play you know who influenced him, just listen close ..Take a guess and let us know! Enough about his guitar playing, Steve even brings a plan to the band. He leads the band in learning material the way it should be. He always brings in new fresh ideas on old material but, then again he likes the some old stuff the way it is. Harmony is another one of Steve's talents, not to mention he does a great job at lead vocals too! All in all Steve is a very talented individual and we are glad he is with Double Cross! Jamie Shoemaker - What can we say about Jamie accept.....Wow!! It's like we went back in time. Its exciting to have Jamie back behind those old Silver beat'em up drums. We never knew what to expect with him and i loved it. He's got it all, vocals - talent and a hell of a sense of humor. Jamie we missed ya buddy... I'm glad your back.... Jamie is from Avon New York, he owns his own business and has a beautiful wife& two daughters. " Just another day in Paradise ! "
Jim Thompson is the Second member of this band that has the job of keeping the background and rhythm solid and strong. 3 guitars can always be seen on Jim's side of the stage. Knowing him for about a year now hasn't changed my opinion of Jim, he's still quiet . I do say though Jim's lovely wife supports the band like no other. I wish I could get my hands on some of the video they have. Jim and his wife are Oklahoma people, down right nice ! Speaking of Oklahoma, They have a grown up daughter that lives there. I hear from time to time that they are moving home soon, I hope not too soon! Jim likes bands such as Black hawk and I don't blame him, their great. The Band Cheyenne is where Jim was before Double Cross, and we have to say we are happy he is with us. The talent is embedded in Jim , he plays guitar and sings. What a guy!
Tom Burdick is the heartbeat of this band. The Bass he plays has a strange name but I guess all guitar players name their instruments, Blu Luey... What a name. As for Tom on stage it is true he is quiet and always on reserve but, if you knew Tom..HaHa! You would look at him in a different light. Tom is a wild man. Believe me! Solid bass playing and the knowledge f putting together a good song is why Tom is with Double Cross, He knows his stuff. I do have to say here that Tom is one of the original guys that decided to form this band. In the past Tom has played in many bands such as High Noon. I am sure I could mention more but I won't.
Theodore Wolfe, what do you want to know? My background in Music is pretty normal, I love to sing, infact when I was a kid it seems that was my favorite pass-time. I have just recently picked up the guitar and I think I am doing well, Infact I have written a few songs without the help of another person, See I have been writing for a long time but, if you know anything about creating your own songs its hard without an instrument helping you along. My position in the band is "Lead Male Vocalist". It's what I always wanted. I get to look out to the crowd and see all your smilin' faces. You know what the best thing is? Entertaining. I love it when I start singing and people stop what they are doing and look right at me with a tapping foot or a snapping finger. That is the best feeling. I guess for all of us in the band, when the audience responds well we know all are hard work pays off! I have been asked several times if I am Married? The answer is no. I really want to concentrate on my music and sharing that with my friends and Family. I guess the right person hasn't come along. Maybe someday. Recently I have been asked what do I do for fun besides singing? I suppose the answer i would give to that is fishing. I love to fish, infact i have a great fishing partner and we go everychance we get. If you love to fish and want a good organization to join i suggest the Avon Anglers. they seem to have some good people and a good set of standards to fish by, infact teaching the youngsters to fish may be a little easier with their help, www.avonanglers.com. Hey feel free to send me an email: Theodorewolfe@hotmail.com
Francine Miller, What a talented individual. She came to us about 7 months ago from believe it or not a club we were playing. See Fran and her friends were out listening to the band one night and I knew her from some years back, and in the back of my mind I remembered she sang some. So on a whim I asked if she ever thought about singing with a band. She said it was a dream she had had for a long time, so I brought her to practice one night and that is that. The guys felt she would make a great additive and I agreed and so on. I love to listen to her sing , what a voice! Francine has a husband, John and a beautiful daughter named Ashley. I feel that Francine and the rest of the guys are the best thing to happen to a guy like me ( TW ), Double Cross is the BEST COUNTRY BAND out of the Rochester Area and we know its because of the Fans and our Families.
There is a member you don't usually see on stage with us, and he doesn't really participate in our shows as an entertainer but, Jesse Jamez is our Roady. He helps with all the lifting and odd ball stuff, An interesting thing about Jesse is he is a pretty good songwriter, infact our CD in the spring of 2002 will include at least one of his songs. Jesse was in a serious car accident not to long ago however,
the metal on his arm in this pic is no longer a part of his attire... He He...Ha..Ha..
Darrell Jones - The Newest of the Double Cross Band. Darrell comes to us from the band "Big Shot" . Eventually he will be replacing our beloved Jim and his spot as 2nd Guitar. We have searched for a while now and found this guy wondering aimlessly around , we think he fits The Double Cross way. So, introduce yourself when you see Darrell and give'em a warm welcome. More info on Darrell will be available Soon....
