This is a smashing group. All of them have history in Greek hip-hop.They have tons of demo tapes. Dimitris Medjelos and Mythridatis at vocals and Prytanis behind the table scratching records soon became young people's favourite band, although the people that listen to them are not always rappers. I think that some people don't even know that Hmiskoumbria's music is hip-hop... The main reason for this is that their songs and style are funny and make people feel nice and relax, so people like listening to them. But I think that although Hmiz' hip-hop is funny, it's more "original" and better published and perofrmed by many of the " hard-core " groups here. So everyone went out and bought their first record. It was called "30 Χρόνια επιτυχίες¨( 30 years of success )The result? Hmiskoumbria became the first hip-hop band in greece that sold over 30.000 albums and receive a gold one. In May 1997 Hmiskoumbria made their new album called " Ο δίσκος που διαφημίζετε " ( The record you advertise ). As I had predicted, it is much better than the first one. They appear to be funny as always, but most songs are "serious". In their album there are some great artists singing with Hmiz, such as the famous Elpida, Christos Papadopoulos, Phoebos Delivorias and DJ Steel. Also for the first time my man Dr. Dreez kicks his own freestyle. The LP is double, and contains 23 tracks ( 13 songs and 10 tracks with various themes ). In my opinion this is the real judgement for Hmiz. None of my friends is rapper, and all of them have the same opinion: The first album was better beacuse it was funnier. That's something that everyone that listened to Hmiz beacuse they were funny believes. But all rappers agree that the second LP is much better. Only time can tell what is going to happen, but I think that right now Hmiz can't get off the top of greek hip-hop.
