There are a number of other little
recordings we have made, but they are even less available than the last
two. The first, Excogitare, was a recording made in June '96
by a guy namd Dave Antonio on an eight-track in his basement. Then
it was Steve Husted, Pete Walters, Seth Mulligan, and Ken Kratz.
When it was made we thought it aws really impressive. Looking back
it is positively laughable. We still have the two reels it was recorded
on and the DAT. But it was fun and pretty good for a first try.
As far as I can remember it had 11 songs on it. They were a lot of
fun and I would like to redo them at some time.
The next big recording done as a band,
Nothing, was with Steve Husted, Pete Walters, Steve Gross, Seth Mulligan,
and Joe Lutz. It was recorded on a four track in Steve Walker's living
room. This one was much better than the first one. We were
planning to get tapes made and sell it, but I think that we decided it
wasn't all that good. There were some better somgs on this one, originally
entitled "Nothing." About half of these songs appeared on "Assorted
Flavors." These would also be fun to do again sometime.
There was a tiny acoustic tape done
with Steve Walker's four-track. It just had Steve Husted, Pete Walters
and Katelin Walters. There were only five songs, but it didn't sound
all that bad for an afternoon of frozen fingers.
Also, I believe Steve Husted has the
largest collection of Imaginary Gum bootleg and memorabelia anywhere.
It's really pretty impressive.
Sitting around here and there are
probably ten tapes of practices that turned out pretty well for being recorded
over headphones.
