Christopher Alan Kirkpatrick, the resident `N Sync 'crazy' man, was born 17 Oct 1971 in Clarion, Pennsylvania to mom Beverly. Chris was later joined by younger sisters Molly, Kate, Emily and Taylor. "I know that when I was born I pretty much was singing. My mom said I could sing before I could talk. I just know that I've always loved music and loved listening to music and performing" During junior and high schools Chris spent much of his time playing football. He's a self-proclaimed sports nut who also loves hockey and idolizes Bruce Lee. "I have an autograph from Bruce Lee that I wouldn't part with for anything" After high school, Chris made his way south to Florida where he attended Rollins College and majored in theatre. He was able to earn an Associate's degree but dropped out of college to put his energy into `N Sync before he could earn a four year degree, which is something he'd like to finish someday. In Orlando, he supported himself by waiting tables and working at Universal Studios where he sang as part of the Hollywood Hightones. "[We] sang out in front of the fifties diner doing like six shows a day. It was three guys and one girl and we would just go out and sing a capella music and try to entertain people" "I used to sing in coffee shops and stuff and I decided to take it real seriously and do this as a living. So I called up a few of my friends. These [the rest of `N Sync] are the guys who took it seriously" Chris is described by his fellow band members as 'crazy', 'wild', and 'unpredictable'. Are they referring to his personality or his appearance? Both. His hair has been done up in dreads for close to two years. He alternates between his natural dark brown hair colour and a mixture of that and white, giving his hair a 'striped' effect. A fellow `N Sync band mate once revealed that Chris once sported a skunk like hair-do! Short and naturally colored on the sides & back, long and blond on the top. Chris sites Michael Jackson as his most famous musical influence. As for his personal musical influence he says "the rest of the band. I know how hard they work and their reasons for doing it, I just think they're incredible". The best thing about being part of `N Sync according to Chris is seeing his musical ideas come to life and meeting new people in new places.
