Joshua Scott Chasez (pronounced Sha-say) was born on August 8th, 1976. He grew up in Bowie, Maryland and attended a Catholic school. Born with a talent for singing, dancing and acting, JC beat hundreds of talented kids for a spot on the Disney Channel's Mickey Mouse Club. One of JC's good friends from MMC was Justin Timberlake, today one of his fellow 'N Syncers, who was 12 at the time that he (Justin) joined the cast. MMC was "the experience of a lifetime. We got to do everything -- singing, dancing and acting too. It's something that will be with us for the rest of our lives" After MMC went off the air, JC tried out for numerous musicals, solo performances or anything else that sparked his interest. He even met up with Justin a few times to help with backup singing. JC was the third amazingly talented guy to join 'N Sync. Chris Kirkpatrick, the eldest of the group, had the initial idea and told Justin, who told JC. The trio then recruited their club-hopping friend Joey Fatone and with the help of Justin's vocal coach, made a lucky catch with Lance Bass. The five guys, who get along impeccably well, are undoubtedly one of the best things that have ever happened to music. JC is known as the serious one the group, but if you dare him to do something, chances are he'll do it. Once he even jumped off a two story building! He's fond of playing his own 'N Sync songs with a jazz twist and using his beautiful voice to sing a cappella versions of old songs like "Jive Talking". He likes to sleep a lot and he's known to take a stuffed animal from a concert with him to dreamland. JC's favorite food is Chinese and he loves in-line skating, football, and going to the movies with his pals. Basically, anytime that the fabulous five are together, they are having fun! 22 year old JC hates needles, hence his non-tattooed skin. He's not a big fan of jewelry either, though he's known to sport a watch, ring, or his trademark WWJD (What Would Jesus Do) bracelet. One accessory that you will almost never see JC without, however, is his necklace. It is a silver medallion on a black rope that can be seen in just about every picture or appearance that he has ever made since he has been with 'N Sync. It is his astrological symbol, the sign of the Leo. Even though 'N Sync are swiftly making their way up the music and video charts, they aren't letting their sudden and well deserved success get in the way of who they are or how they act. Their feet are firmly planted on the ground and from the looks of it, they're staying there! Their incredible talent and pure love for music are what got them to where they are today. As JC once said, "Everybody out there, in some way, shape or form, has identified with some kind of music in their lives. It's the one thing that touches everyone."
