Kirby Puckett
Minnesota Twins
Outfield
During his 12-year career, Kirby Puckett was one of the most beloved players not only in Minnesota but in all of baseball. His career tragically cut short by glaucoma, Puckett made the most of his 12 years in the big leagues, going to the All-Star Game 10 times and helping the Twins to two World Championships. In 1996, he was awarded the Roberto Clemente Man of the Year trophy. Puckett led the American League in hits four seasons, and hit .300 or higher eight times, never batting below .288. Puckett's love for the game and consistency both in the field and at the plate should pave the way to Cooperstown within his first two or three years of eligibility.
