Here is some background information on Anne Frank


Anne Frank was born in Frankfurt, Germany in 1929. At the age of 4 Anne left for Netherlands (1933) to escape harsh anti-jewish laws of Hitler and Nazi party. Anne's dad, Otto Frank managed a company. May 1940 Netherland fell into Nazi controll. The jewish people couldn't drive cars or own bikes, they couldn't ride trains or attend public schools, and they coundn't take part in public sports. 1941 call ups began soon after, the Nazis rounded up the jews and shipped them off to concentration camps. During World War 2 the Nazis killed 6 million Jews. The Frank family and 4 other people spent 2 years in hiding.They all hided in the top 2 floors in the building where Otto Frank had his offices and warehouse. In August 1944 Nazi police raided the hiding place and sent everyone to concentration camps...Only Otto Frank survived Anne died of typhus*infectious disease caused by rickettsia a micro-orgaism transmitted to men by the bite of fleas, lice. This disease is characterized by fever, nervous disorder, weakness, followed by red spots in the skin.* In a camp in Germany (Bergen Belsen) Anne was only 15 years old. She would have been in her earlier 70's today. 2 months later the War in Europe ended.
