description :

A complete playing guide for the game of LinksLS.
Contains much more than just a full selection of charts, plenty of discussion and comments with general guidelines aimed at helping you help yourself to learn the game and play better golf. Also includes links to where you can find other sources of information to help your game improve.
This is not intended to be a collection of charts - I do not, have never and never will use them - indeed I learnt many new things while creating the charts in here. You'll find that time and time again I stress that you should only have a basic awareness of the shots and distances etc, but then learn through experience and feel - its the only way to come close to really mastering the game (if such a thing is possible). Always remember - do you really want to be the best player in the world after just one weeks reading / practice ? If it were that easy then you'd find someone else would soon knock you off the perch. The fun of the game comes in the years and years of playing which in turn leads to increased skills and experience and thats where the joy comes from, aside from the more obvious gain of the many friends you'll make along the way :-) So, relax, have a browse through here but don't be too impatient to know it all in an hour .... trust me, your journey through Links is one you want to savour slowly ......

The original Masterclass written for LS99 - still relevant mainly, although obviously some changes in the game since LS2000 will mean that some of the information is not as accurate as it once was. Despite this I make a concerted effort to make you see charts and things as a "rough guide" which you should never rely on, only to develop the framework of an intuitve understanding based on experience.

The new Masterclass is not yet finished but will be available here shortly.
