1998 LDSD Tour Events
The 1998 LDSD tour was organised as a series of mini tours. Each mini tour was composed of games from a particular course librry (1-4) which were available at that time. There was also a 'main tour' where the basic courses were used. At the end of the season, the Ryder Cup teams were decided by the top 8 finishers in the main tour and also one from each of the mini tours (the top two in each one playing off for the place). There were 27 events in all, plus the Ryder Cup. Of the Tour2000 members, 20 were present on the 98 tour. The tour was dominated by the awesome Elwood (Terry Long) who was almost unbeatable all year long.Amazingly JimDog didnt manage to win once, and ForeLeft could only manage one - and of my four victories, two were "tied firsts" with Elwood and one was in an event he skipped! Many of the names you'll see below remain some of the finest Linksters around, but also we've seen promising youngsters like DoubleD go forward to another level, as well as Brendon Manchester - now one of the worlds best players, who wasnt quite so hot back in these days LOL- just shows you what time, practice and dedication can do for all your games.
