Aerospatiale N262/Mohawk 298 turboprop commuter airliner The N262 traces its roots to the Max Holste Super Broussard project, and flew for the first time in 1960. Only 10 were built before Nord redesigned the craft, reprofiling the fuselage, adding pressurization and uprating the engines to Turbomeca Bastan VIIC turboprops driving three bladed propellers. In the late 1970s, Allegheny Airlnes' subsidary Mohawk Air Services converted nine N262s for their fleet. The major upgrade was the conversion to using Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A turboprops and five bladed props, although the avionics were upgraded and a new APU was installed as well.
