Kadeshi ships





FIGHTER CLASS

SCOUTER
It's an extremely quick scouting ship. Its top speed of 1600 m/s makes it the fastest ship of all, except the Kushan and Taiidan probes. It doesn't have any weapons, but it has the same kind of emmiter dome as a Taiidan defense fighter, so it can shoot down enemy projectiles. It can also be upgraded with cloaking ability (permanent cloak). A special option becomes available then, the option to turn off the emmiter dome (it becomes visible when shooting its lasers). It costs 30 RUs.

SWARMER
This is the basic Kadeshi fighter. Very cheap at only 25 RUs, it's best for swarming the enemy in large numbers. And with the top speed of 1500 m/s it's the second-fastest thing around. The drawback it that it needs often refuelling.

ADVANCED SWARMER
The next generation Kadeshi fighter. It's just a little bit slower than the regular swarmer, with a speed of 1450 m/s. It has the same firepower, but more coverage and armor. Most of all, it can carry 1/2 more fuel than the normal swarmer. But this also makes it more expensive, at 37 RUs.

STRIKER
It's a kind of cloaked fighter. The permanent cloaking ability it has makes it perfect for ambushes. Of course, it becomes visible when fireing. However, the cloak generator it has draws power from its engine. It only moves at 700 m/s. It has a lot of firepower for quick strikes, but only 1/2 more armor than the advanced swarmer. It also has much more fuel. It's quite expensive, though, at 60 RUs.

PLASMA BOMBER
It's pretty much like the old Attack Bomber from Homeworld. The difference is that the Plasma Bomber has greater armor and speed, but less accuracy. It costs 40 RUs.
 

CORVETTE CLASS

SUPPORT CORVETTE
Nothing much to say about it. It's just like the old Repair Corvette, but faster. It's the only strike craft that doesn't need fuel. It only costs 170 RUs.

SALVAGER
This corvette is built for stealing. It doesn't do anything else, but it's very good at what it does. It's faster than the old Salvage Corvette and it moves the captured ships at it's speed. It costs 210 RUs. Unlike in previous HW games, now you can salvage derelicts as well. They'll just get converted to RUs after being salvaged. All the ships you salvage are dragged back to a Hypership, Carrier or Resource Station. They then connect with it and start getting "converted". The derelicts are processed like the crystals in Cataclysm.

MINER CORVETTE
It's just like the Mine-layer Corvette from Homeworld, but with an important difference. It can be upgraded with cloaking ability. It then becomes permanently cloaked, even when laying mines. It costs 240 RUs.

DUAL CORVETTE
This ship has 2 fighting modes: light and heavy. When it's built, it's in light mode (with 4 engines and 2 guns). It has the special option to go to heavy mode, transforming 2 of its engines into guns. You can switch between the 2 modes by pressing the Z key. When in light mode it's like a light corvette from the original HW, but faster. When in heavy mode it's just like a Heavy Corvette. It costs 290 RUs.

DEFENSE CORVETTE
This is a corvette with the same defense field as the Field Frigate from the original HW. The field is actually a little bit bigger. The corvette has only a small gun, just like the Support Corvette. It costs 270 RUs.
 

FRIGATE CLASS

FUEL POD
It's the good old Kadeshi Fuel Pod. It repairs and refueles strike craft. 10 fighters and 4 corvettes can dock with it at a time. It has 2 small turrets for defense. It can also repair bigger ships, with it's two repair beams. It costs 400 RUs.

ATTACK FRIGATE
This is a lot like the old Assault Frigate, but with more turrets, and thus more firepower. It's also a bit faster. It has a defense field (like the one of the Defense Corvette), but it's much smaller. It's only big enough to protect the frigate, not anything else. This frigate costs 550 RUs.

MULTIBEAM FRIGATE
You know very well what it does. It's the Kadeshi Multibeam Frigate from the original Homeworld, with its 4 ion cannons. It costs 650 RUs.

GRAVWELL FRIGATE
It has a small GravWell generator, which coveres an area about 2/3 the one covered by the old GravWell of Homeworld. Just like that one, it doesn't regenerate. But once it's consumed the frigate can internally build another one, for 200 RUs. This frigate fires heavy plasma bombs, fron 6 turrets. It costs 700 RUs.
 

SUPER-CAPITAL CLASS

ANNIHILATOR
This destroyer-size ship has only one ion cannon mounted on its front, but the bulk of its firepower consists of the 4 heavy guns it has. It's very good at taking down smaller capital ships or even bigger ones when used in groups. It's the fastest super-capital ship in the game, but slower than all other ships. It costs 1500 RUs.

MULTI-MISSILE DESTROYER
It's another destroyer-size ship, that fires only missiles. It has 6 missile launchers, 4 pointing forwards and 2 backwards. This gives it 100% coverage. It has significantly less firepower than the Annihilator, but its missiles are deadly to strike craft. It has a stock of 42 missiles, that get replenished when it's not fireing. In a sustained fight, when the stock is exhausted, it starts fireing at 1/2 the normal rate, but it still fires 6 missiles at a time. The Multi-missile Destroyer also has a "missile volley attack" special option. It costs 1800 RUs.

BATTLECRUISER
This is an absolute monster. It has 3 ion cannons in the front, plus 2 ion cannon turrets on the sides that can point in almost any direction. There's also a backward-facing missile launcher, but with a stock of only 10 missiles. To top it all up, the Battlecruiser also has 2 heavy guns. It's very slow, though, and it costs 3700 RUs.

SHIELD CARRIER
The Shield Carrier is the second biggest Kadeshi ship, after the Hypership. Just like any Carrier, it can build ships up to frigate class, it has docking space for strike craft and so on. But the Shield Carrier can also be upgraded with "hyperspace inhibitor" tech, to give it a special option: Hypershield. When the hypershield is active, all enemy hyperspacing is inhibited within a 30-kilometer radius from the Carrier. But it can only be active for a while, then it needs to recharge. A Shield Carrier costs 2500 RUs.
 

NON-COMBAT CLASS

RESEARCHER
It's just like the old Research Ship from Homeworld. You can build a maximum of 5 such ships. They'll link toghether, to increase both armor and speed. The Researcher is much faster than the old Research Ship. It costs 600 RUs.

HARVESTER
Nothing much to say about this ship. It harvests resources. It has a total capacity of 750 RUs. It's also faster than the Resource Collector from the original Homeworld. It costs 600 RUs.

RESOURCE STATION
This ship is a lot like the old Resource Collector from HW. However, strike craft can't dock with it. But the Salvagers can bring salvaged ships to it, and it converts them. It can do that with any salvaged ships or derelicts, no matter the size. Of course Harvesters unload resources at it. It costs 750 RUs.

GRAVWELL GENERATOR
It's similar to the gravwell from HW, but only in it's role. The gravity well it generates is 1/2 larger. Also, once the generator has burned out, it can internally build another one for 250 RUs. The whole ship costs 800 RUs.

CLOAK GENERATOR
This is another ship with a counterpart in the original Homeworld. However, it's cloaking field is 1/4 larger. It regenerates at the same speed as the one in HW. The Cloak Generator costs 850 RUs.

EXPLORER
Remember the Prox Sensor from Homeworld? The Explorer is a lot like that. It has the same sensor area in which it detects cloaked and mimicked ships. It's a bit faster, with a speed of 1100 m/s. However, the Explorer is also a bit bigger and has twice as much armor. It can also "see" far away on the sensors manager, more than any other ship. It costs 50 RUs.
 

MOTHERSHIP CLASS

HYPERSHIP
This is the biggest Kadeshi ship. It's the builder for all your fleet, not to mention being HUGE. It can build any other ship, keep strike craft docked and so on. It can be upgraded with "hyperspace inhibitor" tech to give it a special ability: Inhibit hyperspace. When it's activated, all enemy hyperspacing is inhibited on the entire map. But it can only be active for a while, then it needs to recharge. The Hypership is unique. It looks like a Worldship, but with no weapons and a tail 1/2 shorter. It has engines just like all super-cap ships, unlike the Worldships which don't have visible engines.

WORLDSHIP >single-player only<
You never get to actually own one of these, they're only your allies. The Kadeshi have many Worldships, which are the Kadesh Motherships from Homeworld. They can only build the Kadeshi ships that are present in the original HW game. Of course their escort fleets have other ships as well.
