Build Orders
Mutalisk rush- This strategy
I would advice mostly on island maps but only in zerg on zerg or zerg on
terran combat as a protoss player can easily stop this through use of high
templars and make your early air a nightmare for you.
1. Send all four drones harvesting
to different mineral patches.
2. Build drones up to 7.
3. Build overlord.
4. Build drones up to 9.
5. Build extractor, rebuild
drone 9.
6. Build spawning pool and
have 4 drones on gas.
7. Continue building drones
and as soon as you can, upgrade to a lair.
8. while layer finishes build
drones up to 16 then a hatchery then another overlord then more drones.
9. When layer finishes build
spire and overlord.
10.As soon as spire morphs you
should have 6 larva ready and enough minerals and gas to morph 6 mutalisks.
Hydralisk Rush(Very fast semi risky)
1. Send all 4 drones to harvest
at different patches.
2. Build drones up to 9.
3. Build extractor then build
a drone then cancel extractor leaving you wtih 10/9 supply.
4. As soon as you can build
a second hatchery either at expansion spot or at main.
5. Keep building drones and
while hatch is building build a spawning pool and another overlord.
6. Build an extractor and
evolution chamber.
7. put 3 drones on gas and
as soon as you can build a hydralisk den,
8. While hydralisk den is
building upgrade missle attacks.
9. Upgrade hydro speed and
start cranking out the hydros once hydro den finishes.
This tactic should produce 24 upgraded
missle attack hydrolisks in about 9 minutes.
Early expand sunken zergling to
mutalisks-This is the build order I mostly use on land maps and I find
its very successful as zerglings and mutalisks complement eachother perfectly
and most people can't handle a large air attack early on.
1. Send all drones to harvest
at different patches.
2. Build up to 9 drones then
use extractor trick mentioned above to put you at 10/9 supply.
3. Save up and build hatchery
at nearest expansion.
4. While hatchery builds
save up for a spawning pool build it then build drone to replace it and
then an overlord.
5. Once overlord finishes
morph 3 drones.
6. If done correctly the
spawning pool the 3 drones and the hatchery should all morph at the same
time and once you can send the 3 drones to the expansion and have them
build sunkens.
7. Now crank out drones and
build 2 more sunkens and get your expansion up and running as fast as possible.
8. Build extractor at expansion
and main.
9. Upgrade to lair and while
upgrading to lair build lings till you reach about 34 supply with them.
10.Upgrade ling speed also as lair
morphs and now you have a choice of attacking with the lings or leaving
them around for defense.
11.Once lair finishes build spire
and the rest is up to you.
