on this page you will find info on scope: makers,

different reticules, ranges, and terms.

scope reticules

the standard cross

is found on most

scopes

the cross with a dot in the

middle is more accurate for

hunting

this reticule is designed for

leveling the gun, making

zeroing easy

three dots, designed for

level, accurate shooting

this reticule is good for

getting your target into

the centre of the sight

this sight is the same as the

above reticule, but has a

smaller cercle for more accuracy

this reticule is good for leveling,

plus it has an accurate dot, in the

middle

scope ranges

the range of a scope is the magnifacation x the light gathering.

for example: if your scope is a 4x20

then it has a 4x magnifacation, and a 20% light gathering

some scopes have ajustable magnifacation:

if you had a 3-9x40 scope

then the magnifacation would be varable between 3-9x

and the light gathering would be 40%.

dropped 2cm over 50metres.

the cross-hair the scope is 'zeroed'.
