BEGIN TRANSMISSION.........OK LADIES LISTEN UP!!!!
This page will inform you of the current rules on 3058 Tech, as well as stock innersphere mech configurations and tactics to utilise man with machine....
We begin this time round with recon data, mech we are limited to, their pro's and cons, plus some tactics to use: This is informative but i welcome any feedback from you. Please mail your comments to [email protected]
Recon Rules (Taken from the 3058 tech site)
The Defending team will drop with Three (3) pilots onto a map that as closely replicates the Zone the Attacker wishes to RECON. The Attacker will drop Three (3) pilots. Each teamt will proceed to the opposite sides of the map. The Defenders will have first dibs on which side they choose to goto. As soon as everyone is set, ALL Attacking units will shut down for FIVE (5) min. Once the Defenders determine that all Attacking units have shut down one pilot will have those Five (5) minutes to hide ANYWHERE on the map.
He/She will then shutdown as well. This will require a player who is willing to be an observer for much of the drop. Notice I said "much of the drop." At the five (5) min mark the Attackers can power up. In cases where the expansion pack is used ININITE RADAR will be OFF.
In order for the Defender to determine that all Attackers are shut down one Mech will follow the Attackers but stay Just outside the radar max range. After power up he will proceed back to his side of the map. We are all honest men and women. This only serves to KEEP the honest, honest.
The fight begins when all are then RDY. From here you can see the objective. In order to win the drop the attackers must accomplishes three tasks.
1. FIND that one shut down defending mech.
2. To prove they have found this Mech they must attack it at least once.
3. At least Two (2) attackers must then make it back to their side (the starting side) of the map and suicide.
Once attacked the shut down Defender can power up and join in the chase to prevent the Intel gained by the Attackers from falling into enemy hands.

Is this clear to you all?
As i said we will be focusing this time round on the recon and how it works, so study the above carefully. Similar pages like this will appear as we train for them.
OK, now for the mechs, below are listed the type of mechs we are currently allowed to use in a recon mission, please study this carefully, as it is accurate at the time of publication of this web page. if it should alter you will be notified of course.
Until 3058 change the rules the current mech line up we can use is ANY innersphere mech, plus the following omnimechs:
- Shadow Cat - Primary, & Varient B
- Mad Cat - Varient D*
* Unconfirmed as yet (May not be entirely accurate)
I personally would recommend that we shy away from the Madcat as alo of the KH are relying too much on it. I would like all warriors to please try the following training excercise:
TRAINING EXERCISE #1
Using the following mechs initiate a single player instant action game.
Set it up so that you are using an Innersphere Mech (usully recognised as it will not contain CLAN equipment and weapons.
Then start a BATTLE WAVES game using CLAN Mech opponants of equal tonnage at first then progress up through the tonnage until you are battleing 100 ton mechs.
DON'T CHANGE YOU TONNAGE!!! Start with a 30ton mech and progress upwards when you are confident that you can handle this mech in combat against for example at least a MadCat, (as this is a popular clan mech and is often an regular opponant to deal with)..
So to summerise:
Exercise 1 (stage 1)
GAME SETTINGS: Instant Action, (BATTLEWAVES LEVEL 1 ONWARDS)
PLAYER: 30/35 ton Innersphere Mech
COMPUTER: 3x 30/40 ton clan mechsExercise 1 (Stage 2)
GAME SETTINGS: Instant Action, (BATTLEWAVES LEVEL 3 ONWARDS)
PLAYER: 40/55 ton Innersphere Mech
COMPUTER: 3x 55/100 ton clan mechsExercise 1 (Stage 3)
GAME SETTINGS: Instant Action, (BATTLEWAVES LEVEL 5 ONWARDS)
PLAYER: 55/100 ton Innersphere Mech
COMPUTER: 3x 100 ton clan mechsThese excercises can be done at your own pace while not on line. I reccommend you try this often as it will increase your familiarity with individual mechs and also allow you to get a feel for new manuvers that aid your battle posture...
Of course simulated warriors on the computer is nothing compared to the real thing that is why periodically you will be tested in combat on the zone using the above to see how well you do.
As you progress you may become fond of a certain mech. That is a good thing but it may be an achilles heal when in battle as that mech may not be on the planet you are fighting on. So practice with a veriaty of mechs using the above exercises so that you don'r become limited..
Now for the Theory Lesson:
I would like all warriors to become familiar with the Technical reference manual that came with your copy of MW3. Please study it carefully especially on the weaponry and statistics of the Innershpere mechs. (YOU WILL BE TESTED ON THIS!!!)
Finally training will be this Thursday (13th Jan 199). We will be practicing recons so read the rules above and train up in the zone as well as on the above exercises. I will be pulling in another KH lance to act as the opponants for the training so please try to attend. If you cannot make it PLEASE EMAIL ME ASAP!!!
Following the recon practice there will be a 30min discussion about your progress and any tactics or suggestions you may wish to comment on. you can of course email me directly about such matters or ask other KH warriors.
END OF TRANSMISSION...............
