I've heard of some cheats available by operating on the System Registry. Can you clue me in on these??

Personally, I dislike th term 'cheat' for these, since these were the
modes of play used by the developers of the game, and are not REALLY meant
to be used for normal game-play, so you use them AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!
Ok, the cheats explained..
First, before you do this, BACK UP YOUR REGISTRY! This is very important, as
corrupting your registry file can cause windows to cease functioning!
Next, make sure Creatures is NOT RUNNING.Run RegEdit (Start|Run|RegEdit.exe)
Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Millennium Interactive\Creatures\1.0
There is a key called Privileges, with a value of "user"
The values to change it to are as follows:
Cheese: Gives you the ability to pick-up ANYTHING in Albia with either a
Right-Click, or CTRL-Click.
Darwin or Doctor: Same as above, with the added ability to switch to
different 'Worlds' at will.
Double click on Privileges, and change the value to whichever 'Mode' is
desired.
Start up Creatures, and you should have some new menus with nifty features
available.
Load world.sfc, and there is your game. You can also create new worlds (I
usually load Eden.sfc, then immediately save it under a new name)
REMEMBER... the game will no longer autosave, so you must remember to save
the world manually.
Again.. before you do this, BACK UP YOUR REGISTRY! (you can get regback from
microsoft)
BE CAREFUL, registry editing is not for the faint-hearted or novice, please
don't blame me if something goes wrong.
