(From 3D Racing Mania)
"Oh good.. Looks like a pretty stupid racing game to me but then again looks can be deciving (hehe i can't spell and i am too lazy to use spell check) Anyways AGN 3D has some information about Lego Racer.. here is a little bit cause i don't want to bore you all.. :
For the first time, car maniacs from ages six and up can race their own custom-designed LEGO racing cars, complete with customized LEGO(R) characters. This is the first LEGO Media software title to be available on the Sony PlayStation and the Nintendo 64. LEGO Racers will also be available for Windows 95/98 CD-ROM."
LEGO Racers(TM) - part of LEGO Media's LEGO Games range - is a real-time 3D game enabling a thrilling multiple-view racing perspective complete with accelerated 3D graphics for enhanced visual effects. Every element, from car to circuit to landscape, is based on LEGO SYSTEM(TM) themes. After designing, constructing and customizing a racing car in the LEGO garage, children (and adults) can create a driver worthy of taking up a position on the racing grid. On-screen tutorials give players a helping hand if they need it. Then players can jam the pedal to the metal and race against up to five challengers on any single track. Under development by US-based developer High Voltage Software, LEGO Racers offers real-time rendered video sequences featuring the player's own character winning races and receiving prizes - all set to up-beat, exciting racing music. Two players can compete simultaneously on the same computer or console via split-screen, while the PC version will also offer LAN, Internet, serial link and modem-to-modem play.
LEGO Racer's game champ and current LEGO world racing champion - `Rocket Racer' - will issue players the challenge of defeating all the greatest LEGO Racing champions throughout LEGO history and LEGO future! Opponents are from different time periods and LEGO SYSTEM themes. Familiar faces include Alpha Dragonis, Sam Grant, Rob `n' Hood and Captain Redbeard. Each of the LEGO Racers champions have their own personality and racing style that players need to become familiar with in order to defeat them on their home turf. Accompanied by their loyal drone cars, champions will try every trick in the book to stay ahead and win the race.
Players can race around a choice of 12 LEGO SYSTEM tracks, based on four of the most popular LEGO SYSTEM(TM) themes: Pirates, Castle, Space, and the new Adventurers. As players race around tracks (such as Dark Forrest Dash, Magma Moon Marathon, Tribal Island Trail and the Desert Adventure Dragway) they can collect power-ups and enhancers that give them special abilities. Some power-ups (known as boosts) give players a quick burst of speed, whilst others cause havoc on the road. Further power-ups allow drivers to affect the environment. For example, a blocked cave entrance can be blasted with a power-up clearing the way for a fast shortcut.
Track hazards and tight corners present other obstacles that players need to master. Each track has its own set of unique hazards that need to be overcome in order to win. For example, an active drawbridge on one of the Castle tracks or lava geysers on Magma Moon Marathon which must be avoided in order to be victorious.
