Before setting out into the Welsh forests, take some time at the first service area to set up the car. Stiffen the car's suspension slightly (center of the bar for A7 cars, slightly stiffer for A8 cars), lower the car and swap the gearbox for the setting second from the left. Keep the dry gravel tyres for the first two stages of the rally.
The only thing to really look out for on the Clocaenog Mid stage is a narrow gate, slightly over half-way through the stage. The stage is dry and sunny so mind out for the lens flare.
