Richard Petty's 1968, 1970
and 1971 (L to R) Plymouths. YES, that is a vinyl top on the 1968
Roadrunner. The King used it in the 1970 DAYTONA 500 to mess with
the rest of the racers heads. The rumor was started that it helped
aerodynamically similar to the dimples on a golf ball. The leading
edge of the roof came loose during the race and had to be taped down with
"200 mile an hour tape" (duct tape for you non-NASCAR speaking visitors.)
