Ok, the purpose of this FAQ is to help newbies or even
veteran TF players learn what the classes are for, what each was does, and
the commands that make specific things happen. Please ICQ me at
#4213196 is there is any wrong information or you want to submit
something.
Scout:
The main purpose of the scout is to get the flag.
This class is not used as often as other classes because it has weak weapons,
but on the other hand, full health. It would be good if you grouped the scout
with a soldier or even a medic to clear the area.
Soldier:
This is a strong class, and is mostly used by newbies
to TF because it is almost the same as a normal quake player. But, he is
extremely slow, and only really strong weapon is the Rocket Launcher. This
class is good for fronting a flag capture to clear rooms.
Medic:
This class is EXTREMELY useful in any size game. The
medic has the ability to cure players on the same teams about 5 health per
swing, and also allowed to give enemy players a disease which is contagious
and does the exact opposite. If you do chose this class, you will be very
busy, and often here the cries of team-mates yelling "MEDIC" because they
need help. This is a good class for a defensive person.
Pyro:
This is agood class for any player. The Pyro
has long and short range weapons, but they are weak. The Incidiary Cannon
is just a rocket launcher that sets people ablaze when it hits. The Flame
Thrower is exactly what the name states, it spits out flame and lights walls,
ramps, floors, people, etc. on fire. Not strong and very annoying/laggy. This class
is good for any player.
Demolitions Man:
This class is another class for offence and defence. It is basically a soldier
armed with grenades, and remotely detonated pipebombs, which prove useful
for hopping over walls or hitting switches. I would say this class is for
more experienced TF players, only because he is slower, and only has pipebombs.
Sniper:
This is the ultimate in defence or offence. For defence it has a high powered
Sniper Rifle that kills in 1 to 2 shots, and for offence the Rifle can be
put on automatic for a lower power, but much faster firing rate. If you use
this class it is almost impossible to do well without using the mouse. This
class should be used by the experienced TF veterans.
Engineer:
This is apure defence class. This class has the ability to build
auto-firing sentry guns, and armor/ammo dispencers. The sentries start out
only firing shells, but once atlevel 3, they fire rockets and have
a 80% chance of injuring an enemy. This class can be used by a newbie or
a veterane, but newbies should have an experienced player show them good
spots to put sentries or dispencers
Spy:
This is an offencive class where the spy can take the color of the opposite
team and stroll into their base unnoticed, or at least until a scout gets
curious and uncovers your disguise! This is aclass that anyone could
use if they know how todisguise themselves.
Heavy Weapons Guy:
This isan extreamly hard class to use because he is the slowest class
in TF and the Gataling Gun takes a long time to wind up and down. He is good
because if you can hit someone with a stream of bullents for about 5 seconds,
there dead.
