April 27, 1998 - Monday
Wow!  Things are going great!  The European team now has a full team, and the US team is very close, only two more players needed and I've got three people interested.  Also, Shicane has an excellent idea.  Having two teams just isn't enough for this clan.  Shicane suggested that we have three teams (now called 'houses' following the English government).  Each house will have a say on each wing, meaning everyone will be able to vote on things as a team.  That is the purpose for THREE teams per wing.  Each wing is now completely seperate, meaning the US teams do their own thing, and the European teams do THEIR own thing.  Shicane will be in charge of the European teams and he has complete control over those teams.  The only thing we will watch out for is that we don't challange the same clans, hehe.  On the US wing, I have decided that the three teams will be like this:

1st team:  Primary team
2nd team: Backup team
3rd team: New members

I don't know how Shicane will have his teams set up, but I will allow him to start writing news as well on his teams.  The third team for the US will consist of newly hired members that will practice and so forth and move up depending on how good they are and if someone else on the other two teams quits, does not show up, gets kicked out, etc.  It will be like a backup for the backup team.

Also, check out the rest of the site, as a lot of things has changed.  Shicane wrote an incredible story for the 'About 187' page, and I've also decided to manage the player stats section a little better, you may notice at the top of the page it says 'teams' now instead of 'player stats'.  Check it out, you will like it.  I will keep everyone posted on the US wing happenings, and soon Shicane will be keeping everyone posted on the European wing happenings.

Let's welcome two more players:

Welcome team players to our clan.  I will keep everyone posted on the upcoming server I'm setting up.  This will be a place where we can meet anytime for practice.  I just hope the pings will be good...  :-)  I guess we'll find out soon..

By the way, I'm going to set a date and time for an upcoming FIRST practice.  The way this is going to work is this:  I'm not sure if I'll be able to have us play the European team or not, it just depends on the times that everyone sends me.  If not, that's ok, US can practice together and Europe can practice together.  However, I do have a plan for sometime in the future that we have the two sides of 187 in a playmatch.  I think it might be fun.

Also, 187^Shicane has informed me that he does not want to lead the European team, maybe just a 'chairman of the board' kind of guy.  The way this was originally going to be done was everyone selecting a team leader after we played a few times.  The IRC channel I've created is for a group discussion as well, so PLEASE DOWNLOAD mIRC if you have not yet.  ICQ is a great program but I think for times when we need to ALL talk together in a discussion, IRC works best.  Also, I am going to give everyone's ICQ #'s out to the rest of the team very soon don't worry...

Ok, now that a few days have passed, I've had some time to re-interest myself to where I have some hope for the clan.  I've gotten a couple of emails already now that people who've seen this web site have gotten an interest.  This is good!  This means that the site is being viewed and is striking a pose with other people.  I have a possible member from Colorado who I am waiting on a reply from.  So keep your fingers crossed and SOON we will be playing thank GOD!!!  :-)

Also, I want to thank everyone for downloading ICQ so quickly!  This proves that everyone still has interest and proves that you guys are loyal to this team (both of them).  Now the next big step is actually getting together for a game.  I've only gotten daily times from ONE person!  I need ALL of you to email me your times that you are available to play.  Don't make SPECIAL times for this, just tell me the times you would normally play quake2 and we'll go from there.  I want everyone on the team to not feel constricted in this clan, or obligated for anything out of the norm.

And for the final statement, over the next few days I'm going to be doing some extra work on this site to 'fancy' it up some.  Plus I'm going to do a little advertising as well, this way we can get more people to see the site and get some interest.  If the site is fun, people will come...  Ya know?  :-)

The time for a clan meeting is coming soon.  There is something I NEED all players to do...  DOWNLOAD ICQ if you don't have it.  Check for it in the FILES section.  This will allow us to know when we are online and this will allow for us all to meet and start practicing (EVEN if we don't have enough players) I want us to start getting together for some games.  I will let you know what MY ICQ # is through the newsletter, and when you download and setup the program, I want you to EMAIL me your number...

Well, last night seemed to be very successful in the recruiting.  I believe we will be getting three more players...  Check back soon for more info.

Also, there are some new sections added to the site.  A Files section for some needed files by players (more files will soon be added).  And a Screenshots section so we can show off our personal high scores to everyone.

Ok...  There has been a long delay since the update to the site.  I apologize..  There was a death in my family and I was called away for a while.  But now I'm BACK.. hehe

Anyway, here's the scoop...  Talks are in place for the clan to split...  There will be a U.S. version and a European version.  It looks as if 187^Shicane will head up the European side of 187.  The reason for this is because of the major time differences.  I'm planning on doing some long awaited (and needed) recruiting for the U.S. side of 187.  187^Shicane will be doing some recruiting for his side of 187 as well.  I also expect team players to do some recruiting themselves.  If you see a player you think is good enough for the clan, ask him/her if they want to join.  Just tell them to email me or come to this web site.  I'd like us to start gearing up and hopefully start practicing in a few weeks.

Also, the IRC channel will be gearing up more as well once we get more players, so don't worry...  :-)

The IRC channel we will meet in is on the Dalnet server.  The channel name is #quake2clan.  I will update you and let you know what times we will start meeting there at a constant rate.

Recruiting began online as I was playing.  I found a few really good players who were willing to join the clan.
Also did some more work on the web site, changing the style of the pages to a much better looking, more professional looking page.
