As fsgs is about to release there new build today, they will add support for the 1.06 patch, so no big drama there, should be out later today, just hope the server you are logging on to has the updated build :)

Infoceptor has released Warcraft 2 v4.0 this seems to be really good and I will download it when I get a chance and let you know what I think of it. If you want to get a head start on me, go ahead and click here.

Well Blizzard have surprisingly released a new patch for Starcraft/Brood War, there are no balance changes and you can read what has changed below.

- patch 1.06 - (Battle.net client patch)

- Adds Battle.net support for Warcraft II: Battle.net Edition.
- Adds command completion to Battle.net chat. It can be accessed by pressing 
the <tab> key.
- Fixes some minor battle.net issues.
- Displays cancel dialog in situations when server is busy.

 Now the sad thing is, I seem to not be able to get on any fsgs servers, I have posted a message on the fsgs forums and connex says he will look in to it, hopefully they will fix it soon..

Yes the Diablo 2 screenie of the week is up, it shows a necromancer and an Amazon pounding a lot of nasties, the interesting thing is, it shows the new town portal which looks rather cool, so hurry and click the link here

Infoceptor are just about to release there latest Warcraft 2 conversion, if anyone doesn't know what it is, let me tell you....they grab all units from the War 2 game and put them in the Starcraft world, this is done really professional and you might want to check it out when they put it up later today.

Starcraft Legacy has released there latest Winters bot, I don't recommend Winter's bots for chatting, they are used for moderating channels, but you can give it a try here

On the Diablo 2 suggestion forum, Max Schaefer of Blizzard  answers here in some detail some questions about the beta and also how they will overcome the pressure on battle net once Diablo 2 is released.

Microsoft have released DirectX 7.0, expect this to be used in upcoming games, but get a head start and download it now from Microsoft here .

There has been a post by Warblade! in the battle. net war room about how War 2's ladder system will work...

As we have mentioned before, there will be two separate ladders
for Warcraft II Battle.net Edition. Definitions for both are as
follows:

LADDER
Players with ten or more wins are eligible to compete in Ladder
Games that are open challenges on special Blizzard approved maps.
While you have the option to select starting resources, the game
speed is preset at "FASTER" and you always start with
only one Peon/Peasant.

IRONMAN LADDER
Ladder players who achieve a ranking of 1200 or higher are then
eligible to compete in this special Ladder where the competition
gets even tougher because the maps are random and you always
start with low resources!

Hope this clears things up a bit.

Infoceptor have added there Warcraft 3 image gallery, they claim it's the best available on the internet and I wouldn't argue with that :) but why don't you decide for yourself here

Some sad news. Blizzard have delayed the Diablo 2 beta :( the post is below, I just hope they make it before years end....

Hello Everybody,

This email is to update you on the status of the Diablo II beta test. As you all know, we have been hoping to release the beta this month. However, after several meetings and discussions, the team has determined that right now we need to focus on getting Act II, Act III and the finale ready to ship before turning our attention to beta feedback.

We are working very diligently to get the game out this year, and by shifting the beta date until the end of October, we hope to be able to finish the game before year's end. I can assure you that there will be a beta, and by finishing Act II, Act III and the finale sooner rather than later, we will be better positioned to implement user suggestions.

We hope you understand this necessary schedule change and realize that we believe that the decision is in the game's best interest. We'll keep you updated in the upcoming weeks on the beta's progress.
