The story so far...
This section of my site is for the story of my bowling
"adventures". There are many things to bowling, and in my description of how the game has been
for me may very well be interesting.
Well, I first began to bowl sometime in 1995. A friend of mine took me to a local bowling
alley one sunday night. It turned out that sunday night was not a very good time to bowl; real
tough to find a lane. We went to Pioneer Bowl first only to find that it was crowded as hell. So then
we went to Keystone Lanes. We got a lane there and I did rather well. This is what got me started on
this wonderful sport. Pioneer bowl became my usual place of bowling for a couple of years.
I'd say that throughout the time that I've bowled so far my Junior year of high school was
kind of like "The year of bowling". This was because I had recently joined a league, and two of my
friends frequently bowled and were in the league. One of my friends has a car, and we went bowling after
school 2-3 times a week. Throughout that time my average was between 135 and 155. Lots of bowling.
During the summer of '98 two horrible things happened. First, Pioneer bowl fuckin' closed,
and then my riend moved. Quite far away he did. The next school year after school bowling nearly ceased
to exist. We finished that league at Cerritos Lanes, which became my present usual place. But I had to form
a new team and compensate for the greater distance from my house and the higher prices of Cerritos Lanes.
I did form a new team and joined up with their league for a season. A long and arduous season in which
we ended up in 6th place. We got the shittiest little trophy imaginable. I know that it's bout having fun,
but an insult of that degree is a bit much. There wer toom many damn pros at Cerritos Lanes. People who
had a greater capacity of resources for practicing often. Damn! Such frustration. Me, a leader of a team
who won 1st place two seasons in a row get whooped by these punks. Shit! It just wasn't worth the effort.
I haven't joined the next season, and I'm still not sure of what I'm going to do about that. My
high score is 220, and I'd really like to beat that.
