Rorke's Drift

A 28mm Zulu war game Run by Glenn Broome using "The natives are restless tonight"

We had time to play this game twice.

The first time was an easy victory for the the redcoats as the the seventh card turned brought the bugler onto the table

This was where everyone was at the end of game one. The British spent most of this game mocking each other for killing less Zulu.

Game Two

The game got off to a much better start for the Zulu this time, they got several multi action cards which enabled the Zulu riflemen to get off quick four volleys which reduced the British in the kraal to half strength, which was more than they had managed to kill in the entire first game.

Here the Zulu have occupied the Storehouse after evicting the redcoats, The remnants of one of the British units can be seen in the stone kraal

The Gun crew having used all its ammo fight hand to hand, just not very well.

The Zulu have evacuated the Storehouse which the British deigned not to reoccupy allowing the Zulu to mass a few troops out of sight of the British rifles.

When they had enough for a charge, charge they did.

USUTHU !!!!

and rolled over the defenders quite easily.

And then drove into the rear of the last of the British.

By the end of this game the relief column card never came up even though we reshuffled the deck at least three times.
