Phantasmagoria 2 - A Puzzle Of Flesh

First good thing about this game is that it's not Phantasmagoria 1, or anywhere near it (I hated that game). This game is better (much better), and has more gameplay than it's predecessor. You are Curtis Craig and you have been released from a mental hospital and at the moment living a peaceful life, till all kind of weird stuff starts to happen. One major drawback of this game is the fact that it's too linear, we all know the feeling when we see a movie and the hero opens a door he shouldn't be opening, and you want to shout how stupid he is. That's what's fun about computer games - YOU decide if the door is supposed to be opened or not (in some games opening the wrong door will get you killed). However with this game you either won't have a choice but to click on the door or just stare at it. You will have to use it for the plot to advance.
Also there are some very dumb scenarios when you are talking to people. After you talk to your girlfriend and she stops talking and you get to control the character, you expect to have another option besides clicking on your girlfriend again so that she will CONTINUE talking.
However there are some good riddles and the game itself is a bit hard at times, yet mostly you feel like watching a TV movie with a few clicks in it. Though the game isn't scary or thrilling it is pretty gruesome, it has some revolting scenes of flesh eating and tons of blood, which after a while is repetitive. The best part of the game is the last CD (though the ending sequence is bad no matter which one of the 2 ending options you choose). The last CD, when all is revealed and you find out who is really behind that monster's eye, is my favorite part. I think they should have made it longer.
The game itself crashed on me a few times (like all my Sierra games). I did use the patch after installing it, so maybe that reduced the number of crashes.
Not that bad a game, but pretty short, not many free options, boring at times, not that scary, mostly simple, too many movies, not enough gameplay.
Only reason for playing this game is actually the plot, which is pretty original and very well made, not like most horror movies you know (even though the ending is pretty much like a typical horror movie, that's why I liked it.) Good movie quality too BTW.
