Yet another C&C style game (and if u don't know what C&C is, go back to your home planet or visit Westwood). Unlike C&C however this lacks many (and I mean MANY) of other C&C type features:
First of all:
The installation.
As you know every game requires an installation. If you are the (un)lucky soul, with an ATI card (RAGE or RAGEII), go and bash your head against a wall and try again. The installation will crash under Dos and go crazy under WIN95. NOT TO WORRY!!! There is a cure!!! The game developers have created a patch !! (Which does ABSOLUTELY nothing) But according to them
solves all the problems! So after trying for yet another 2 hours to install the game, and getting the annoying "patch unsuccessful" messages (seems like you have to use the patch AFTER you install the game the usual way and then reinstall the game or something ?!?). I finally was able to play the game with my ATI card. Not without problems however --- sure the game played fine (thru Dos however) when I first ran it, but if I DARED going back to the main menu again, the screen went
crazy. So that takes off 5 points from the game score for lacking the ability to make it compatible before shipping it (ever heard of BETA testing guys ??? You are supposed to try the game on VARIOUS machines to see if it'll work...)
Anyway, shall we continue?
The second most obvious thing about this game is the AI. I've heard of smart, and I've heard of challenging, but this is ridicules. Anyone who is able to pass all the levels of this game without cheating is a King of strategic games, and I
salute you --- me, after level 5 of the "surviving" side, I went berserk (my friend also couldn't cope with this one and he finished C&C and Red Alert without blinking an eyelid). Another thing the programmers didn't think about while creating this game was the AI playing FAIR ! Sure there are rules to each side ; but the computer's side seems to have some extra bonuses. If I (for example) try to build a building more than ONE inch away from my camp, the game will tell me that I cannot
do that (he won't let me)... However it seems like the computer has bribed the AI since he can build all his buildings as far as 5 (!!) inches away from his camp, which would usually be some kind of Defence Tower (he can just put it wherever he wishes regardless as to whether he even has a building nearby) Again 2 points off for that. If you are gonna make a strategy game, make the rules equal for BOTH sides, don't make it harder for the player without any reason.

The last drawback of this game is that on certain levels, beating the crap out of the enemy and clearing his presence from the map isn't good enough. You have to wait until more enemy vehicles get into the map from somewhere outside the map limits. Now that wouldn't be
so bad. But here I am waiting for them to come.... FOR 10 MINUTES !!!! DOING NOTHING !!! BORED TO HELL!!! Who gave them the idea of doing that ???? 1 point off for that.

Of course this game DOES have some good features to it. The cinematic sequences between levels are very funny (if you can see all the 3 windows at once that is ; one with the video of the guy giving you the mission, one with all kinds of cinematic videos, and one with hilarious text... if you miss the text -- well too bad ; no replay) However they are very good.
The game itself is just like C&C --- get cash (oil), build buildings, upgrade them, build machines of war, wreak havoc on enemy base.

Poor design, bad gameplay rules, non-original idea, way too hard, UNFAIR, hard to install (For ATI cards mostly -- me).
If you want a C&C style game, go get the expansion pack for RED ALERT.
This game is truly for those who love a good challenge and have time for it... tons of time :)
I didn't like it at all...
