I have been playing drums for about 4 years now (2 years with snare drum in school band, 2 years on a full drum set), of course I still do play in the school band also. A lot of people ask me "what's your favorite band?" or " who's your favorite drummer?" and those are really tought questions, because I don't have a favorite band, and I don't have a favortie drummer. I'll pretty much listen any band or any drummer that is in the funk, jazz, rock, metal, alternative, latin, or fusion range. Pretty much everything except for rap and pop. although i don't have a favorite drummer, here's a few I like and "borrow" techniques from: Chad smith (Chili Peppers), Carter Beauford (dave Matthews), Lars Ulrich (Metallica), Dennis Chambers (solo artist). I'd say if my drumming style were to be made into a food recipe it would be this:
3 cups Chad Smith (for undeniable funk aroma)
2.5 cups Carter Beauford (for delicateness)
1 cup Lars Ulrich (for that extra crunch)
