Here are a few lists of things not to do to your Pokemon cards to keep them in pretty good shape.

Never put your cards in your pocket without protectors!
You should never put cards in your pocket without card or deck protectors on them. You should store all of your extra cards in a plastic case or in extra 9-pocket card holders. If you keep them in your pocket, the corners get all bent, and the color wears off of the corners, and it just makes the card look horrible! When I was a little kid, I collected Power Ranger cards. I left almost all of them in my pocket and screwed all of them up. I got so mad and cried my little eyes out. SO NEVER DO THIS!
