When the evil took over the kingdom of Khanduraz, people who lived there, lived in hatred, of one another. The kingdom was destroyed and it’s inhabitants would never again live the same. Clans and guilds arose out of the darkened cities of Khanduraz. These guilds and clans all had their vile rulers and kings, old knights and priests of king Leoric. These kings gathered them, trained them and tough them in the arts of war. Khanduraz was a kingdom without a ruler and one of these kings would become the master of Khanduraz in the end.
One such clan, was the clan of The Crystal Dragons. Their ruler Tai’shar, was a provocative warrior with many talents, especially those of leadership. Once he had formed his clan, he quickly had many people from near and far join his cause. The town of Drakkarim soon became his stronghold, and a castle was erected in his name. Drakkarim was situated in the west of Khanduraz. His talents were well known throughout Khanduraz and soldiers who survived the Sin War travelled from near and far to join his congregation. These soldiers came in the night and entered the city walls to join his baronies and become part of his army. Two years passed and he had gathered just over a hundred men who were formed into elite baronies and sought for war. He was a very reasonable ruler, who was fare and just towards the people in his town. Building a huge church and short after a library to train his sorcerers for his personal use in combat.
But his guild wasn’t the only to prosper in Khanduraz. A clan in the far south of the land, with their ruler Golasyx who was a trained sorcerer, who had also survived the Sin War. He was once one of Leoric’s advisors and a close companion of the arch bishop Lazarus, who had fallen into evil hands. Discovery of many of Lazarus’s scrolls and books near the cursed temple, led him to learn even more, and become one of the most powerful of sorcerers. The books and scrolls were gathered by his followers, soldiers and mages which he had recruited throughout Khanduraz. The building of a church in Drakkarim, had spoilt his plans, and he had to find an adequate force of soldiers to attack and destroy the church. His own minions weren’t enough to pierce the high walled city of Drakkrim.
In the ruined forest of Lorkan, a small but elite group of female archers developed. They lived high in the tree tops, and knew only the bow as weapon. These mercenaries used a gorilla like warfare, and ambushed nearby towns and travellers. This is how they made their living in the forest, gaining their wealth.
Golasyx sent one of his most traversing sorcerers Akagazad who morphed himself into one of the Lorkan rouges. Entering their forest and pouring conspiracy into the minions, the Lorkan rouges attacked Drakkarim at nightfall. In the full moon of that evening the two forces fought for three days. HighLord Tai’shar fought, all his troops defending his castle, when he realised that the rouges were only out to destroy his church. All his legions were fortified inside the castle walls, and he chose a Barony of soldiers, among them a young Knight called Nathan, to go out of the castle and defend the church.
They were brutally murdered, but only Nathan managed to escape the blood bath. He could however not return to the castle as the Rogues would have outnumbered him 100 to 1. Nathan fled for his life, and ran into the jungle, never to see the city of Drakkarim, it’s high walls and red and golden flags again.
Seven years passed and Nathan had become a full grown man, strong and elicit in soul and body. He travelled through towns, making a living as a thief, stealing from the rich. He trained his talents and skills and became a supreme fighter in the arts of close combat.
One day while drinking ale in a tavern, he overheard a wizard talking of the temple of darkness, and all the riches to be found inside of the cathedral. Immediately he gathered his equipment and set out to adventure into the jungle in search of this so called dark temple. He travelled for forty days and forty nights until he reached the temple deep in the jungle. He dwelled the labyrinth for 9 nights, until one night he was brutally attacked by a horde of horned demons. Standing his ground, he defended himself from the evil beasts, but was over whelmed and dragged toward the darkness beneath the earth.
All seamed lost, until down the dark torch lit hallway, as the demons were dragging him, he suddenly saw a blinding light, and the demons that were dragging him by his arms, let go to run from the light. There was a flash of power, and all the demons turned into stone. A hand helped Nathan up as he looked into the bright gleaming eyes of a sorcerer.
Together, Nathan and W travelled onto the border between Khanduraz and the kingdom of Westmarch. Here W morphed them both into Westmarch mercenaries and they left the evil lands of Khanduraz behind. Nathan soon started his own guild called the Kingdom of the Black Griffin, and together with W as his royal advisor they started to roam the little city of Trost, high up and hidden in the mountains of Vonotar.
They gathered soldiers and free willing recruits and their knowledge grew over far and wide as they sent knights to travel among the lands of Westmarch. Never did they set foot over the border to Khanduraz again. Nathan then changed his name to Benadon thus leaving his past behind for good.
