Ok the first tutorial is how to draw eyes. As we all know eyes are the major feature of manga cartoons so it is of great importance that you learn how to draw them. The eyes will either make or break a character, so will the hair, but that is a later tutorial. As well as looking good the eyes also express alot of the emotions you see in anime.

 Eye Type 1.
Step 1: First you must draw a thin line that is slightly curved like so.
Step 2: If you look you can see that the second line is straight. Don't draw it to far down though.
Step 3: Now you outline the iris. The iris is a perfect circle but the eyelids hide some of it. Also in any manga style I know, the entire iris is never shown unless the character is expressing a emotion such as anger e.t.c.
Step 4: Now you can draw the light glares (or shiny bits). Female characters have larger and/or more glares than male characters. We are drawing a female eye here. Also draw a small wrinkle above the uper eyelid.
Step 5: Now outline the pupil and draw in the eyelashes as the slashes coming of the top right of the eye.

Step 6: now shade in the pupil dark and shade around the pupil a lighter shade, also note that the pupil and the lighter shade do not cover the glares whatsoever. Draw the eyebrow as well just like the line in step 1. Now smooth out the lines and darken them, if needed also make them a little thicker.
Male version of this eye style
Male eyes are more thin and are narrower then female eyes. Glares in male eyes are also not as big and they have darker thicker eyebrows.
Here are some eyes from type 1. Note their are female and male eyes. Some eyes can also be used as both.

Eye Type 2
Step 1: Draw this curve by starting with the right side, notice that the eyelid  is slightly thicker at the peak. Also the way this curve is drawn can affect the overall look of the completed eye.
Step 2: Draw the bottom eyelid, hmm hard isn't it.
Step 3: Draw either an oval or a large circle for the iris. I'll stick with a oval.
Step 4: Draw those damm cool light glares.
Step 5: Draw in their pupil. Note with any style never draw the pupil on top of the light glares.
Step 6: Draw the eyebrow like step one as shown and do your shadeing as before.
Male Version: As far as I know their is no way this eye suits a man.

Notes on eyes
The space between the two eyes is equal to the eye-width (you can fit another eye in between).
Eye sizes are usually normal for male large for female and larger for the little manga kids (Manga kids are a different tutorial)
