The gathering:
~~~~~~~~~
After the first ever LOBclan war practice (lasting all of 15 mins) we took to Global at 2100 to vanquish the DCU scum. A huge LOB turnout (see pic) waited on DCU - cheers guys for all turning up, sorry some of you couldn't play. YourMum did appear and the usual fucking around trying to get a server ensued - Enta (down), Dircon (full), Global (laggy and full), clara (mods), and so on. Eventually we decided on some far out back water which i believe that Ferrit suggested - 194.119.129.207. It was playing the E4 levels and all but myself and Apeman had pings of 500, compared to the LPB DCU (who were all sitting in the same room at their workplace which kinda helped their team coordination). However being LOB and not ISKA we did not quibble. DCU had also only managed to bring 3 players instead of the stipulated four, so everyone but me, Apeman and Coool left, and the battle commenced.
The E4 levels:
~~~~~~~~~
Owing to our huge lack of knowledge of these levels, there was something of a massacre (see pics). LOBs occasionally managed to secure the RL but then did not know where the armour was, etc, etc. However we did manage a few frags to avoid utter humiliation. Eventually due to some cunning level skipping (noexit was 0) by me and YourMum we eventually wheedled it round to the E1 levels.

The E1 levels:
~~~~~~~~~
Here we moved into action. On E1M1 we managed to nicely secure the RL for a good deal of the game and got the win by 31-24, LOBs kept control of the quad nicely as well and it looked as though we were finally gonna deliver some payback. On E1M2 we went well again, using the quad and RL well, though SilverB pushed us somewhat, we stuck to the task and kept control of the key locations, DCU were wondering round dazed and confused and we took the level 32-31. DCU got their act together as we went into E1M3 though and with some useful tactics such as camping at the top of the lift out of the RL pit, and some downright good play (such as when SilverB heard me follow him down towards the RL, made me think he had not realised then as I was about to nail him, he turned and blew me away) DCU took the level by 27-53. Ouch. So as DCU took all the E4 levels and one of the E1 levels I think the win has to goto them, though LOBs came out of the encounter with great honour, especially Coool who stuck out a ping of 500 - take note ISKA. As this was the best possible team that DCU could put out - the others such as Bigswinger are a complete bunch of tools (Apeman and I beat 3 of them 40-20 a while ago) - and the fact that we could only play 3 destroyed our tactical plan, LOBs can look on this as something of a moral victory especially as if we just look at the E1 levels, we actually won by 2-1 levels.
The Aftermath:
~~~~~~~~~
Well it was an enjoyable match, and we've got another in the pipeline to be fought vs DCU, on a slightly better server with levels known in advance. All I can say is watch out DCU, and to quote from Gemell's original Druss The Legend: 'I am Druss! And I defy you!'

So in summary - cheers people well played.
