the emulator page
this page contains a lot of emulators. there are differences
between systems. while snes, genesis, nes or c64 emulation
is nearly perfect, psx, saturn, nintendo 64, and sega 32x emulators are
far from working with most roms. since the release of ultrahle
in early 1999, there weren't any n64 emu with comparable compatibility ,
though ultrahle actually does "only" play about 50 games, and only very few
perfectly. psx emulation has become better since the first
serious emulator called psemu was released. now bleem,
is currently the best one. bleem is compatible with about 50% of all
playstation games, and about 15% work really fine without graphic
or sound errors. serious saturn or sega32 emu's aren't released
yet.
bleem! v1.5b
- bleem! is one of the very few commercial emulators. many think, me too,
that this means a contradiction to the whole emulation thing.
nevertheless bleem! is currently the best playstation emulator. it runs
a lot of games, many even with hardware acceleration,
what makes the game look much better in relation to the original.
bleem! causes no problems when using backups. i updated both files so if
any problems occur with these, please send a mail.

psemu pro v1.0.21
- psemu was the first emu, which actually played some
games. it doesn't have much compatibility, but
some games, for example spyro and tekken 3 work quite good.
the project was discontinued after the publishing
of a leaked beta of psemu pro. the whole emu,
bases on plugin's, which are, despite the fact
that the project is discontinued, developed furthermore.
check out the useful files section
for these plugin's.

UltraHLE v1.0.0
- this was the first nintendo 64 emu, which played a couple of games. unfortunately, the developers of UltraHLE have discontinued their project. the only possibility to get more games to work with UltraHLE is to install the regularly published ini-files. you need at least a pII or celeron 300mHz and a voodoo II or voodoo banshee card to run games properly. voodoo 3 cards will work, too, but you need a patch.

TRwin v1.23
- the new verion of trwin has the following advantages: raised compatibility,
a comfortable joypad configuration utility, sram saving, and many other 3d cards, including 3dfx cards
are supported now. trwin is currently one of the best n64 emus, besides the legandary ultrahle.

Nemu 64 v0.6
- Nemu 64 deosn't run as much games as UltraHLE. but with the publishing of the newest release, it runs about 40 commercial roms.
Super Mario 64, Mario Kart 64 and other ones. Nemu 64 uses Direct3d, and even software mode.
it's slower than UltraHLE, but the authors promized to optimize the code.

Sunset rev1.5d
- this emu is from april 99. the moonlit coalition released it to prove
that sunset is still under development. i didn't tested it yet, but refering to the latest
compatibilty list, it seems to run quite a lot of commercial games.

1964 v0.3.3
- 1964 is a open source emulator project, on which currently many people work,
so there will often released new versions. 1964 doesn't run games yet, only some
demos, but so far it develops very quickly. a very promising project.

Zsnes v0.988
- this emu is perhaps the best snes emu. zsnes is very fast as it is coded in
assembler .though dos
based, zsnes has a comfortable graphical interface. zsnes uses a lot of different
video modes, has mmx support, a good save function, and a good controller support.
zsnes is the emu with the biggest compatibility.

Snes9x v1.29
- Snes9x is one of the very few windows based emulators. Snes9x is in many aspect equal to zsnes,
there are only some differences. the controller configuration is better, snes9x can use the super
eagle/ 2xsaI mode can be used in fullscreen mode, there is 3dfx support, compatibilty is lower
and it's not as fast as zsnes. there is a very good a linux port of Snes9x, too. get it at their homepage.

Ccs 64 v2.0 beta
- this c64 emu is the most advanced of all. i never had any problems with Ccs 64.
it support both joysticks, memory expansion, tapes, and has a machine code editor.
as this is the beta version, some features doesn't work perfectly yet, but you can live without 'em.

DGen v1.21
- there aren't a lot of genesis emulators. DGen is currently the best one.
it runs under win9x with directx. the handling is quite comfortable.
i play seldomly genesis games, so i can't say much about the compatibility, but
all my roms seem to work very good.

impact release 1 (+ boardrom.bin)
- the release of this emu caused a lot of rumble on the net, like ultrahle did in
99. for now impact emulates Capcom's ZN-1 and ZN-2 Arcade systems (Taito's FX-1 Arcade system is
partly emulated, too). some quite new fighting games are supposed to run with impact, which
are called "impact roms" on the net. the emu needs a BIG machine to run: PII 450, 128meg,
16meg 3dcard. if you're machine match this, check it out.
